Great suggestions. For the outlet covers, the existing ones can be painted. They just need a light sanding to rough up the surface. That's what I did before those paintable covers were available. Updating lights, cabinet hardware, and door hinges and knobs really does make a difference.

Excellent tips! I really appreciate the toilet handle tip - I'll be doing my bathroom later this year and switching to brass fixtures, so this one was good to know. So many never think about it and just settle for the cheap chrome one that it comes with it. Yes - on the house numbers - not only looks better but also for emergency concerns. If there's an emergency, you want 1st responders, to find the house as quickly as possible. If you have a curb side mail box, put large numbers on there for the same reason and on the house. You have a lovely home!

For towels, wash them with baking soda and vinegar. This will usually brighten them and get rid of the dingy color. In my bathroom I am using a sugar bowl and creamer pitcher for Qtips and toothbrush, paste, etc. I wasn’t using them in the kitchen and didn’t want to go buy something.

Don't paint your outlet covers while leaving the centers of them white. That looks terrible! You can buy paintable covers that go over the entire outlet (or switch, as applicable). That way, the entire thing will be painted and you won't see an ugly white switch or outlet in the center, that is surrounded by another color of paint on the cover plate.
