nope. its over 10 rounds. And it has to walk thru all the expensive "safety" testing to get "certified" by the DOJ. I think George has explicitly made his position clear on jumping thru California hoops. And we still have restrictive "you can't mail order ammo" laws and many places don't carry any or much 5.7 ammo. Basically even if Keltec wasted the money and spent the time to get this certified, all we'd end up with is a 10 round, slow to reload 5.7 pistol firing more expensive and harder to find ammunition. If Im only getting 10 rounds, Im either going cheap range toy plinker .22lr or bigger 9mm or .45 (or 357 cuz wheelguns are fun) otherwise Id be all over this.

Not a good choice for deer. Most likely it will go a few miles before it stops, if it does, it could live for a while. Plus I doubt it will leave a blood trail for you to follow, caliber is too small. Plus you need to check your state hunting laws. They may have a minimum caliber size limit. Which the smallest I know of is .223. I haven't seen 5.7 being allowed for deer hunting.
@SuS_NuG_It15 күн бұрын
I don't know what side you're talking to, but 57 out of a pistol is not going to stop a deer. 57 out of a rifle is probably not ideal to stop a deer. You talking about shooting a deer with a 40 grain or less bullet.

Last year I bought the Kel Tec P17- 22 caliber pistol for under 200 dollars and expected it to be junk because it is light as a child's toy gun even fully loaded, but I was pleasantly surprised it was very reliable after several hundred rounds and decided to make it a summer carry being so light, but I want this PR57 for that same purpose since it fires a center fire round and should be more reliable than the 22 rimfire in the P17, I had a Smith air weight 38 special as my carry, but 20 round capacity in a more accurate handgun trumps the 5 rounds of a bigger caliber in my opinion
@Liberty4Ever16 күн бұрын
When I bought my KelTec PMR30, I was walking out of the gun store and stopped to open the plastic case to make sure the pistol was in there. It felt like an empty case. When the PMR30 is unloaded, if feels like a squirt gun. For reliable 22 LR ammo, I recommend CCI. Their rim fire priming process is way better than anyone else's in my experience. Primer reliability is close to being on par with centerfire primers.

Good question but I'm a bit surprised this is a concern. I'd never think of unloading a pistol before coming into the house because, I want to be personally armed at home (in addition to the 12 gauge that may be on the other side of the house), but also because the pistol is safest in its holster and taking it out to unload it seems much more dangerous than leaving it loaded in my pocket.

The only applicable scenario that I can see this being used for would be something akin to the world war II era liberators. To be able to preload these in Styrofoam boxes, airdrop them into areas that need halfway reliable firearms, and just let them be thrown away after being used. They look like this slaught-a-matic from cyberpunk. I don't think I would ever want to see these in the gun store, unless they were coming out of a vending machine in said gun store.
