Life in the diaspora is challenging for many Africans due to cultural disconnection, economic struggles, social isolation, and emotional stress. They face issues like racism, underemployment, homesickness, and high family expectations. Language barriers, legal challenges, and intergenerational conflicts also add to their difficulties. Despite these struggles, Africans in the diaspora demonstrate resilience, contribute to their host communities

Thanks for this video and many others, we appreciate your content. The West is indeed like a “dog chasing its tail!”. Most people like myself still stay here due to the many conveniences so we think. It’s very hard to detangle oneself from the “STSTEM” once you live here for many years. My family uses a portion of our backyard to grow organic vegetables for hobby and as an “organic plants growing lab” to perfect our skills for the great return 😝❤. Even maintaining an organic garden cost big money in the USA. The good soil you must purchase in bags or truck loads; the organic seeds cost us a pretty penny, neem oil for pest control, high water bills to irrigate the crops. Sometimes it might seem like not worth it but we still keep growing to avoid buying everything from the grocery stores only to poison ☠️ ourselves with cancer ♋️. You can eat clean foods in Africa and for free if you put in the work to grow what you consume, but laziness is starving the next generation of Africans importing all kinds of foods throwing away cash while importing cancer into our countries. The recent spike in the use of synthetic fertilizers is of great concern.

This is such a powerful and insightful video filled with rich knowledge and history about Africa’s colonization and the systematic obliteration of its people. One remarkable takeaway is the shared history and struggles of Zambia and Zimbabwe, particularly during the Rhodesia and Nyasaland era. The British colonial agenda of forcing people to the Zambian side while claiming Zimbabwe as their own land underlines the deeply rooted colonial divide-and-conquer strategy. What stands out even more is the significance of the name Mugove. As beautifully explained, in Zambian it means “gift,” while in Shona, the Zimbabwean language, it means “reward,” “inheritance,” or “portion.” Both interpretations carry deep, positive meanings of blessings and shared heritage. This is proof of the unity among us as African people, transcending the artificial borders created by colonizers. The reality is that we are one people-sharing the same land, history, and blood. Across the continent, 70% of us speak similar languages with overlapping meanings, showing that our connections run far deeper than divisions. These borders are indeed fake, and as Vana vevhu (children of the soil), we must embrace our unity and stand together. Thank you, Kelvin and VaMugove, for this enlightening and inspiring work. This is exactly the kind of knowledge and storytelling we need to reconnect and reclaim our identity as Africans. I hope to hear more about Zambia’s story and its connection with the rest of Africa. Together, we are stronger.

Lweendo, names have spirits connected to ancestors through a shrine. What if the name from Ivory Coast was from a very strong shrine that does battle with yours? Names are big altars & your own name is spiritually linked to the first 'Lweendo' ever of your ancestry & to his/her spirits!

Kelvin, names are altars connected to shrines and bear spirits, so if you give your son an Ethiopian name you will attract Ethiopian spirits of that shrine which will be alien to yours & might battle with your family's spirits for dominance . . .this is the same for biblical names e. g. names adopted by African prophets as they abandon their own father's names. Africans are in the habit of adopting alien names whose impact upon their shrines & spirits can be destructive. Martiage is also a blend of spirits. What would a member of that family do if they went abroad for three days? Carry their own food? There must be a spiritual answer & solution to this!
