Kemba Walker debuted for AS Monaco with 2 points, 2 rebounds & 1 assist, while his team achieved its first victory in the new EuroLeague season winning 82-76 against Crvena Zvezda. The game held special significance as it reunited Walker with Shabazz Napier, his former teammate at the University of Connecticut during the 2010-11 season, where they secured the NCAA championship. Also, Crvena Zvezda fans came back to Stark Arena and set their all-time EuroLeague attendance record with 19,123 fans.

I love these experiences for American players. This helps them understand the mindset of Europlayers and their pride even if they are not the same players on their American teams here they are superstars The love for basketball and hip hop in European countries is next level and sometimes they do it better than we do in terms of the fans and the love for the PURENESS of the art form
@fistandpen2505
@fistandpen2505 8 ай бұрын
What an odd statement. Why would American players need to understand the "mindset" of Europlayers at all or even versus anyone else? The objective is to lace up and hoop, much like you would anywhere else. Respect is a given of course, but what does the mindset of Europlayers have to do with it? Besides, the names I heard for the most part where decidedly not Euro: "Diallo" "James" "Okogo" etc... the teams are overrun with faded players from outside. And what exactly is the "pureness" of the art form? Some people just say anything.
@UrbanBDKNY
@UrbanBDKNY 8 ай бұрын
@@fistandpen2505 American Players are spoiled by the business the NBA has become. If you don’t understand what the pureness of the art form is that’s on you. Stop pretending to be smarter than someone cause you don’t agree Disagree and move on. These spoiled players play less, don’t play as hard when they do play and play because it’s their job too often not because they love basketball Europe plays basketball the way basketball used to be played by the NBA. The rest of the world took the sport America invented and have played it better. Team ball. Passion. Win first etc the money is a plus to do something you LOVE

@@UrbanBDKNY LMAO Its hilarious how bias you are. This abstract phrasing of mindset means nothing, as if Luka isnt the most complaining and T'd up player in the NBA and he came from your Euroleague. And Euroleague is nowhere near how basketball used to be played. Euroleague is soft, great fundamentals, but real talent comes few and far between. The NBA has softened its rules to appeal to international play and the softness of Euroleague. The only thing NBA players learn is that outside of the NBA it is basically playing JV or DIII.
@UrbanBDKNY
@UrbanBDKNY 8 ай бұрын
@@AnonymousRapGuy lol You know why Kobe and Wade dominated during the redeem team defensively? Cause more physical contact is allowed in fiba basketball than the NBA and Kobe knew that. Regarding your “bias” comment, I m American but I m not some prideful clown. I grew up in NYC playing streetball in the place considered to be the Mecca of basketball and the home of the best street ball in the world I don’t support weak a** minded players who are spoiled. Now if you want to talk about a different era cool but calling me bias because I call it like it is is a weak argument Luka himself said it’s easier to score here than it is in Basketball and it shows. The man has avg 32+ last season and is at 31 this season I don’t support anyone, not athletes, not politicians and not a country just because I am American. That’s a weak mindset. I call it like it is
@TheMailmanable
@TheMailmanable 8 ай бұрын
@@fistandpen2505 I believe you have no idea what you're talking about. My home team, Barcelona, has players from all over Europe (Spanish, Czech, Lithuanian, German, Serbian and three non-Europeans (that is the max each team can have) so no, teams are not overrun with faded players from outside. It is true that Europeans cannot match the skillset and physicality of the top NBA players but in Europe you see a couple of things that the NBA seems to have lost for good: proper defense every single game, ball movement and fundamentals. That could be the ¨pureness` @UrbanBDKNY was talking about.
