Yes, they are good enough for a beginner barber or just to cut your own hair at home.

Yes, it is a perfect choice. With the large trimmer you can use it to make a fade for your beard, and with the small trimmer you can use it to make a perfect contour (you can watch on my channel, I have several tutorials where you can see step by step how to make that fade for your beard).
