There seems to be very little in the way of video here on KZbin for Egyptian Pagans/Kemetics. So here is the first installment of a video How-To series for beginning Egyptian Pagans (including Tameran Wiccans) and Kemetics. Stay tuned, more will be added periodically!

Thank you for this video. I'm reading Mary Renault's sequel to "The Persian Boy"; "Funeral Games". The first one is the story of Bagoas, Alexander the Great's lover. The sequel is set after Alexander dies, and is about who will rule the empire he created. Anyway, I've gotten to where Eurydike marries Philip III/Arridaios. It describes the noise of the sistra. When I first read it, there were no smartphones, so did not look up the sound as I wasn't near my computer at the time. But now I have a phone I can use to search for a video or audio file so I can hear exactly what it sounds like. Yours was the first one that ALSO described HOW to play one, and I am very grateful for your video! Thank you so very much, and have a lovely day!

If you were near Florida, You could have joined my group that I run on meetup. I never discriminate color or sex. It is all about finding the tight people.

@songojin Thanks for the clarification, I've heard of the 5% Nation before but wasn't familiar with their beliefs. Best to give them a wide berth, either way.

Hmm. Depends on your area. Right offhand I know witchvox has listings by area, but that tends to be more Tameran/Eclectic. There's a couple of online forums for Kemetics, but unless you're in a big area like Chicago or San Francisco it's tough finding local Kemetics. Message me, let's see what we can dig up.

nyny. i'm hoping to find kemetic groups in my area, but there is one problem. i'm afraid to because i worry about the backlash i might get by doing so because i'm white. do you have any advice or anything?

@kaashee You make an interesting point. Let's also not forget how much Asian culture is copied nowadays, by both black and white folks. My T.A. in a Japanese class years ago was a very nice black lady named Mernita. And I knew several black Buddhist converts who take off their shoes in the house and sit Asian-style on the floor to do their prayers every morning and evening. Is that "stealing"? Of course not.

@raidio1 I'm not trying to be African, just me. Europeans have been visiting and appreciating Egypt since the days of the ancient Greeks, and some of them even settled on the Nile--just Google "Aegean Natives in the Theban Tomb Paintings". We should all be able to share in Egypt's heritage.

@prince2amir I have heard this same accusation, plus plenty of variations, made about every other race on the planet. And it's wrong whoever is saying it. Racism is racism, no matter who's talking about whom. Ra said, "I made every man like his fellow, and I did not command that they do wrong. It is their hearts that disobey what I have said." That means EVERYONE, black, white, red, yellow or polka-dotted.

@prince2amir Im not white. Question: are more or less black people copying white people than white people copying black people? it really doesnt matter ; just learn from each other to develop what you like and what benefits you the most. this is culture.

I don't get this, how are you "Trying to be egyptian," just because you belive in anceint Egyptian gods? Religous belifs at the most part are color blind. Belive in any gods you wish, you arn't trying to be a differnt culture. No more than a white Hindu is trying to be Indian.
