Those notes will be their demise. They need to learn the GPS and use LeadNav. There will be no way to read those notes at night, if Ken’s section runs at night; or the truck has issues that forces him to drive at night.

Other thing, surely once you've prerun the course written the notes the features of the "road" will have changed. With lots of other competitor running hard burms and dips etc will have changed. Rocks and other smallish obstacles will have moved as the sand and dirt gets torn up. I'd have thought for Baja that kind of notes system can work but would be less reliable than for stage rally as the variables seem much higher as an event goes on 🤔

Interesting video. How the hell those trucks can take that much punishment without snapping all sorts of things is pretty amazing. I'm guessing that's where 7500lbs goes - reinforcement. Still, 1000km of that shit would result in many retirements in the race I suppose.
