With the ARA season officially over my Hyundai i20 WRC rally car was due to head back overseas, but before shipping it out I decided to swing by Hoonigan's Tire Slayer Studios in Compton to give it one more rip.

Biggest testament to Ken's skill behind the wheel, isnt how he can do donuts in the shop, but how he immediately knows when it's not gunna work and kills it before he crashes. It's 1 thing to have faith and trust in your skill, that's what makes you fast, but to understand when it's not gunna work and try again, instead of just full-sending it, hoping for the best, is experience. You're truly 1 of a kind Ken. I'm curious though, will Lia be joining you in Gymkhana 2023, now that she has her license?

That indoor line... was absolutely INSANE... Oh my gosh. Gaurenteed most people just cannot understand how ridiculously hard that was to pull off, ONCE. Let alone doing multiple donuts. Everytime the car does a full revolution, it naturally wants to step out a little bit. There's absolutely no room to allow the car to step out, so to keep it dialed into the center point like that is black magic.

Love Ken but he is nowhere near the top when it comes to real rally. He doesn't go as fast as the WRC guys but hes fun to watch cuz he goes way wider than everyone else.

WRC is a different beast, with a ton more money behind it, more participation from manufacturers, and a different rule set. Get out to an ARA event next year... I promise you will never watch Ken pass by on a stage and think he could be going faster... he's always on the edge.

For a fraction of a second, I was surprised at how comfortable KB was just taking a run at the Burnyard in a car that had never been there, and was made for a completely different environment...but then I remembered, well, everything. There's a new 10/10ths in town I went to the event! Tire Slayer Studios is as sick as you would imagine, and all the guys are so cool and friendly.

This is something else. Hyundai has earned a new fan today… they’re doing all the right things right now to further their brand and try to compete with other companies. They’re putting in a bunch of work racing and developing and they just seem to be getting better and better every time I hear or see something about them. Like their concept car, that thing is badass! They way their innovating these cars… round of applause to their engineers for real! I’m starting to love all that they do 😂

Sadly they have been doing really shit this season in WRC compared to previous season (multiple technical problems) coupled with Toyota just has been dominant and making no mistakes especially at the hands of Rovanpera. (Although to be fair, Toyota has always been a strong team ever since their return to the sport in 2017)
