Alex. But what the heck is he saying? It seems to bear no correlation to the trail, or at least is a fair way in advance. “30 right two plus long” (turns left…) lol. The small numbers seem to be gears. The big numbers… Meters distance? MPH? (but there’s no speedo?)

@@mr_tom_1_0 small numbers are turn sizes and large numbers are meters. so 150 5 long would mean it’s. 150 meter turn and it’s a 5 which is almost straight and long would mean it’s a longer turn than normal. he says it in advance so ken always knows what’s coming on the track.

I think it would be cool to have a short video discussing the shorthand/code you have with your co-pilot. I am amazed at how quickly he is able to relay information to you while you are flying through the woods!!!

I’m approaching 50 and until recently had never gotten into any type of auto racing. Enter Covid lockdowns and I found sim racing and now I’m addicted to watching this stuff. Rally has become my favorite to dream about participating in.....dirt rally 2 and wrc 9 are about as close to I’ll get to it, but I’ll take it. Ken Block, love your vids.

Really curious as to how this car does for you. I’m not even close to dictating how good a car is but seeing you placed second with all those issues you were having is impressive . Judging from the beginning you can tell the suspension is not as well balanced and he's constantly having to fight the steering to keep it going down the correct line, that's why he mentioned he wish he had done some tweaking to it before the stage.

I still have yet to make it down i need to one year would love to say hi maybe get an autograph for sure. I live in affton Mo so getting down there some how for a race one year shouldnt be a prob. Seems i always forget it takes place in and near the end of Feb and im always hearing about it after or a day or two before the event. Congrats on your 2nd place podium win.

Awesome footage, nice to see how the faster cars treat the same section as us slower regional entries. :P One issue with the title though: this was SS8, and not SS12 as indicated. SS8 has a different starting point, and connects up and starts to overlap with the SS10/12 stage at the corner at 5:55 in your video. (On SS10/12 you come in on the left going straight through, instead of treating it as the R2- you called.)

how do i get into rally if im 18 and living with my mom with a basic job for right now literally would send this as cautions as possible

@@markuzsosa318 You'll break you car, need that for work and dates. Start with SCCA autocross, (also look at rallycross) cheap to participate, only run for 35-55 seconds, car should be fine. Go hang out at the race track, someone will let you 'crew' for them. Work for free, hang out in the pits and meet people. Could be drags, rally, bmw/porsche club track days, volunteer as a corner worker for a race. Network to get a job in the industry. Stay eager, learn, and work hard you can do it.
