No matter how many rally video games i play, this aspect of rallying is something i'll never get to experience or understand. So i'm glad we had this perspective here and sneak peek in how these things are done.
@UncleManuel2 жыл бұрын
This shows how much stuff goes into preparation. Not only does everyone in WRC drive thousands of miles during the three days (do not forget the transfer miles between stages!) but also recce and testing the days prior. Rally on the WRC level is just mental! 😲

He's got his own channel: (danger Dan) He said he'd still be around and it wasn't anything to do with not liking his job but wanted to try to do something else, grow his own channel. Glad to see him still around the guys and his channel is dope
@TerminusVox2 жыл бұрын
It shouldn't go without saying the the "new-Zac role" should actually be called the "new-and-yet-to-be-equaled-Roncar role". My perception is the HHIC is a demanding and exacting boss. That's not good or bad and certainly no slight to KB. KB is not just a competitor battling for the championship in this sport; he's also the team owner with THREE competitive cars within the sport and a businessman who has goals and responsibilities beyond the sport. Documenting that in a compelling and complimentary way is a tough job to do and a tough role to fill.

@@BBRAIN1977 I'm well aware of Group B and a big Audi/VW fan, while the safety standards have made huge gains what the Block's do consistently is still as impressive. As the technology improves with time the driving skill needs to grow with it in terms of reaction and reflexes. Maybe not in mechanical skill from the drivetrain improvements but from the tech being better at handling stopping and power delivery means the driver needs to react and prepare more. I have faith that Lia will go on to do great things for the Block legacy. RIP Ken

I don't think I would be able to side seat for too long in that world. I'm a driver, got to be in the seat that gives me all the feedback and connects me to the ride. I don't know if I would need all the notes in the same fashion. I find it distracting to memorizing but I know you don't have much time. I'm used to pushing for time best and memorizing vs navigating. Tracks change so rapidly though and with blind points or situations track notes would be crucial to maintaining a time lapse on point. Love watching all the fun. Any seat is a good seat when you're geared up with a crew like yours, but I get vertigo like crazy in side or back seat. Love all your team does. Keep up the great work. Have fun! I'm prepping for winter here. I get to keep my ride on the roads in crap weather day and night for several months. Michigan. Joy. Hoondaily.

Have you ever tried reading while in a moving car? It's disconcerting. Can't even imagine reading mission critical notes OUT LOUD quickly enough to be useful while the car's sliding sideways at 70 or 80 mph. Insane squared. Rally is definitely crazy entertainment. It is unknown by many motorsports fans but is top of the heap in terms of skills and level of execution
