Ken Dodd was the paragon of the all-around entertainer, the last of a now extinct breed from a bygone era. His comedy timing, his lovely signing voice, his onstage stamina, his warm and endearing personality. We shall ne'er see his like again. A light went out in Britain when he passed away. There's none to hold a candle to him in the modern era.

We were supposed to see him In Torquay but my other half was ill - we said we would see him next year but he passed away a few month later. The man was a true 'mucic hall' act. We lost one of our last great comedians! BLESS YOU SIR KEN we miss you greatly.

I loved him because one of his Diddy men was called Hamish 😁 which is my name .....I loved watching Ken Dodd and his Diddy men and also Michael Bentines Potty time ..... Also is I got older I started to appreciate the more shall we say adult content of his work and he did have a great classical singing voice.....much like George Formby his songs were quite raunchy as well ....

My old Ma was a big fan of Dodd and often said what a wonderful singer he was. I am saddened I never really listen to him and appreciate how right she was. I recollect the funnyman with the Diddy men from my formative years and only today realised wow, what a voice. This is one of, if not the best version of the song.
