Deep respect for the English director being so honest about his own country failures. ALmost every country did terrible things in past, some on the big scale, some minor ones depending from how m´powerful the given country was. But not every country can be honest about it (Turkey and Armenian genocide, Croatia and torture of million Serbs and Jews to death in Jasenovac concentration camp, Ukraine and tortures mass murders of Poles in Volhynia...)

Yeah, like when the Irish in the nearly five hundred years after Roman withdrawal until the coming of the Norman's, used to raid Britannia for slaves and plunder. Then conquest! Whole swathes of Wales have place names of Irish origin. St.Patrick was a Briton taken in one such raid. Let's make no mistake, the Welsh didn't invite the Irish. They conquered them! So in effect what the Brits did to Ireland was just payback!

@@mikeycraig8970 That's even remotely recent history. The reason the events of the 20th century are important is because they have so much direct relevance today. Nobody's asking for reparations for slave raids that occurred in the 6th century...

Why does any country think they have the right to invade another country? So much bloodshed has occurred in history from smaller nations fighting against invaders for their freedom and sovereignty. If Britain had not invaded Ireland I can only imagine how different this country could be today.

Imagine being as stupid and childlike as you are. How can you have such a simplistic and downright boneheaded perspective?

@@MrAlien911 Explain that remark, if you can. I'm British, well educated, and she's right.

Maybe Brexit can do something useful and reunite Ireland.

Moronic comments, forgetting or ignorant of, how awful ths IRA actually were, and are. Did the IRA just want to play cards with the black and tans? FFS
