David had a drinking problem and that exacerbated whatever happened. The tragedy of the Von Erichs is often blamed on Fritz, but drugs were just as responsible.

The Von Erich family's story is probably the most tragic in pro wrestling history. The Iron Claw movie about them was pretty good.

I really don't think his lifestyle was any crazier than many of his contemporaries. David and Mike both had medical conditions that combined with drugs hastened their demise. Jack of course was a terrible accident. Dave's daughter - crib death. It's just all so tragic. As for Fritz - even Kevin thinks he was handed a raw deal with all the blame.

Old Man von erick was a very troubled soul. He was gifted with 5 sons and really was a piss poor father. Kevin is a very good man though
