Some notes for the curious: Universal Overhead is Down Down + any button Every character returning from New Gen has their original color on HK In the air, parrying with forward sends you backwards while parrying with down sends you forwards Urien's cMP animation is ever so slightly different Shin Akuma requires 3 Perfects, no lost rounds, and less than 3 chip wins. You also gotta land a super finish or perfect on Akuma when you get to him Sean builds stupid whiff meter if you hold back whilst doing his normals.

Max wanted to fight Akuma in this game but didnt. He even PLAYED AS Akuma in his Akuma Legacy run. To fight Akuma you need to get at least 2 perfects and at least 4 super combo finishes without losing one round. If you defeat Akuma with a Super Combo finish, Akuma will resurrect as Shin Akuma.

Everybody talks about 3rd strike because it’s more geared towards competitive play and difficulty and combos and what not, but his 2 older brothers New Generation and 2nd Impact have some the best art and music in the Street Fighter series. I swear when I was playing New Generation and I went against Alex, I heard his theme start playing and I said out loud to my self in absolute awe, “how is this stage theme so good?!”

The only issue is that widescreen changes the way the game is balanced due to increased breathing room. For instance, Oro might have a problem getting to the opponent after he fires an EX ball, the small screen space allows him to super jump fullscreen over after firing it, allowing him to put on pressure fullscreen away.

SFIII: New Generation actually had a widescreen feature that can only be done through debugging if I remember correctly. Honestly, all of the CPS3 games should have had this feature other than Second Impact. Can you imagine Red Earth and Heritage for the Future in widescreen?
