Awesome! I'm 42 lying in a hospital awaiting open heart surgery. I been playing bass since I was 13. I remember my mum bought me a bass magazine. In the corner of the page was a Ken Smith 6 string bass. I said to myself... one day I will buy one, it hasn't happened yet but I still have it in my sights. Listening to this bought a smile to my face. Beautiful instruments, beautiful tone. Awesome player. Look after yourselves, keep playing bass!! Ken Smith basses rock!!

@@_Majoras Hi, My surgery went well. Im 6 weeks post opp. Got the big zipper scar but im doing well. After the surgery my surgeon mentioned if I didn't have opp I would have died before Christmas, so thank God I got it sorted. Thank you for your concern. It means a lot!

I think Ken Smith basses just sound perfect. The feel may be subjective. But the sound is spot on, simply perfect! A Ken Smith is a bass for life.

Love my Smith BSR 6. The feel is extraordinary and the sound is second to none. I own fifteen basses of assorted manufacturer, string, and style confiuration. I like them all, but the Smith runs the anchor leg of every meaningful gig or jam session I ever get into.👑🎸🎶

That tone tho!! I have one and I tune mine a whole note down, just like Anthony Crawford does with his Roscoe. So my tuning then goes from B, E, A, D, G, C to A, D, G, C, F, A#. At this tuning, the tone is like "WOW!"

Perfect basses for playing in the upright position or either chording! When it comes to the aggressive stuff like attacking some funk I would choose others first (not many but a couple😂). IMO Smith's tone is very pretty and clear like a vocalist on a ballad

Ervin Colman depends the bass , every bass has his match mostly DR Hi, sunbeams,Ddt all incredible. and Fodera Nikel amazing for others and Bluesteels in one very unique and Pro-steels are a thunder but a have tried many i love to know about strings you tell me what you use?

This is a older one... I think a BT6... Yes, they sound a bit different to todays models, I think it’s due to the different neck through construction...

The higher register strings have that funny nasally twang , I guess that’s an acquired taste , every dude I heard play one sounds the same , J pattituci , Gary grainier , and others , don’t care for it at all. I’d say they play amazing though
