I adore this game. The gameplay is organic, you use what you have in combat and in all the puzzles, you use the environment. No buffs or potions, or complicated skill tree, it's all so simple, yet the difficulty is still there. I appreciate that I can keep running while healing at the same time. There's no mini-map and minimal HUD. The characters have depth, even with so little screen time. you aren't spoon fed anything, you have to find, explore and discover it for yourself. It's like a breath of fresh air in a RPG

For me, this game doesn't deserve anything higher than a 6/10. The combat is great. But there's the problem of not using enough of it. Only in select areas and replaying curse chest which there's no reason to redo them. Getting the parry timing is also nearly impossible to learn unless you're planning to die dozens of times. The bosses don't appear often enough to learn their pattern. Lastly, tracking every item is also not fun. Finding chests with hat is one of the most boring things to do. This game is a glorified tech demo

6 hours, are you a speed runner? :p I played it over 2 days, around 5-6 hours each day. So would say 10-12 hours. I was surprised it was so long

This game is a breath of fresh air. Nothing really new or groundbreaking about it, but the visuals, story and soundtrack makes it a good GoTY contender. Just beaten the game hours ago. I hope they put a NG+ on future patches if there will be. And it's well-optimised and polished!

This game is so close to perfection. And yet, nothing is really deep, simple combat, small skill tree, nothing new. And yet, it's probably the most beautiful game, graphics are perfect, animations are perfect, atmosphere, colors, cut scenes... so good. This is an impressive feat. 9/10

After grow tired with gaming industry,I’ve heard a lot of good game so I decide to loom it up via ur vid. Plus,It’s on sale today so I grab it. First hour into the game…wow….I missed those day when I was a kid,Do nothing but watched 3d animation that made by Disney or Pixar on my dvd player and enjoy every minute of it,This game gave me those feeling.

It is definitely in my Top 10, I will give it that. And, I've played a lot of games. The puzzles were fun and not overly complex. The story was good and the enemies were fun to kill. These were all monsters, which I like playing more than having to kill humans. I'll leave out my disappointments, because they might be spoilers.

Just picked this up on STEAM and man, am I glad I stumbled across this gem of a game. It's gorgeous, whimsical, and has a difficulty that can at times test you. It's definitely not "souls-like" challenging but it's a lot more testing than the art style would have you to believe. An absolute masterpiece and memorable adventure. Also, the music is epic. 10/10 👍

I agree with almost everything you said, except that while I also agree with combat being the worst part of the game, we do so, but for entirely different reasons. As always, when combat comes into discussion, it's either too easy or too hard, but rarely just right. Not an easy task for gaming developers, as we the players, have different comfort levels and expectations. At least they have a difficulty level adjustment bar in games, to somewhat assist us with this issue, but even with that, it's rarely perfect and what we are looking for, when in combat mode. Lastly, yes, it's on PC, but is currently an EPIC exclusive (which doesn't help us Steam and Ubisoft Connect only players). It's also on PS4 and PS5, but only in digital form (which does not help my daughter, as she is a physical copy only consumer). And then of course. the game is not available on X-Box (which is the only console my son will play on). So, Ember Lab needs to expand with the way they allow us to purchase their game, because they won't get a penny from my family, until they do, and that's just one family, as there are million and millions of other families in simular situations. Kena is definitely a top 25 game of all-time, but does not make the top 10 on my list, anyway.

This game doesn’t really hold your hand to the point where you can waste several hours if you’re determined to figure out the fetch quests on your own. The story is too light to be real meaningful and the combat is overly frustrating while mind numbingly dull at the same time. I have to say though, it’s beautiful and well made especially for a studios first game.

Hate swimming in this game lol. Wish there was a sprint mode but for swimming. Texture pop in (PS5 performance mode) is also pretty distracting in some parts, Also no new game plus is kinda a shame. I played it once through, and kinda wanna play it again but follow a walkthrough to 100% it on my way. idk. But yeah this game reminds me of Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank games that I loved as a kid. Could have been better but I give it a solid A-.

It looks amazing, it sounds amazing and plays really great. Unfortunately its all packed around a mediocre story (imho). It's still a very beautiful experience don't get me wrong. But for me it's usually the story that hooks me in a way that makes want to play again. This is a "have played it, was nice, move on" kind of experience. Which is a bit sad considering how pretty everything is.

I disagree. This game is stiff and boring. Its visually a beauty, yes. But not pretty enough to get stuck constantly with these puzzles and no idea what to do next and the map is basically useless. It feels like you just walk around the areas and hope for the best to get to move forward and then it happens again. How many times this can be repeated? Not a game for me.

The puzzles are fairly simple and the game always tells you exactly what to do next. It's literally marked on the map where you need to go if you want to follow the story and not explore
