After almost 3 years of traveling it is time for me to return home. I haven´t seen family and friends back home for a long time! I am going on a short 2-3 weeks holiday back to my home village in northern Germany. But in order to get back home, I had a long traveling day ahead of me, including 3 flights. The longest trip from S'pore to Copenhagen -- in btwn Dubai & Belgrade. From Denmark to Sweden by car, after 52 hours DELAYED. After 55 minutes took off from Changi airport ( the flight itself was delayed one hour ), all the oxygen masks were dropped due to one of the wing's prob. One night in Dubai, another in Belgrade. That summer I flew with five different airlines😅 another trip from S'pore to Barcelona with Dusseldorf, Amsterdam & Paris in btwn. I was supposed to arrive in Bcn Friday morning, but didn't arrive until midnight

My longest flight ever was more than 24 hours inclusive of transit, from KL to Florida, with stopovers in Osaka and Detroit. And another unforgetful flight was the flight coming back from Northen Africa. There was an issue with the engine, and they made us wait nearly an hour in the scorching dessert heat inside plan, before switching plan half a day later. What suppose to be a single stop over flight became a two stop overs and my baggage went around the world before arriving back in KL a month later 😂. Yeah, I can feel your anxiety about not seeing your back at the airport

Welcome home Ken. Up till 2019 I flew to Munich every year from 2011 for stays of 3 months. Mostly with SingaporeAir. I traveled a lot around Germany but not much in the north accept for around Hannover. My longest trip was Sydney to Durham in North Carolina. That was three flights. Sydney to Los Angeles, LA to Detroit and finally Detroit to Raleigh in North Carolina. I was super tired because of delays in Detroit. Also my bag went missing for the first and only time so far.

Good times, Ken! I flew the FRA-SIN on SIA and back as part of my trip home from Denver to KL in October/November 2021. Long trip but it’s the journey they say, not the destination✌️ Luggage handling is a science! I count myself lucky and only have to deal with missing bags on a couple of occasions over the 20 odd years traveling home. Happy for you that you get to visit home😊👍

For me, this was one of the best videos that I’ve seen on your channel because it’s so raw and authentic. You shared your feelings and your tears. Thank you for being so real. Hi Ken great Video as usually very emotional when you met and hug your Mom, I know how that feels I left home at 22 years old from Dublin to travel the world in 1978 ended up in Australia did not return home for over 6 years in a time with no mobile phone even hard to make a trunk call. I lasted around 3 months before I return to Australia/Asia. I’ve been stuck here in Dublin Ireland for nearly 3 years now looking after my sick sister and my beautiful Thai wife of 27 years is living and working in Brisbane Australia looking forward to returning sometime in November it’s been too long. Wow! The way your mother hugged you when you arrived at the airport brings me back memories when I just came back from the US at Kuala Lumpur airport. She hugged me the same way after two years being apart from studying from 1996 to 1998. It was an emotional moment I will never forget. She was always worried sick about my safety and welfare in the US. I was still very young during that time. I was around 21 to 23 years old..🥰😪
