Hi Ken, My suggestion for your strategy: 1. You can stay a day or two in Anuradhapura (north central) and head up to Jaffna. There are many untapped treasures there in northern area. Also pls refer to these Romain coules channel "Hungry Romanians" to get an idea about northern parts. 2. Then East coast is much better, same again, not so touristy but excellent places / beaches to visit (and also better deals in terms of price) Additionally, highly recommend to get a Scooty or Tuk-tuk for yourself as before for road trips. Adam's Peak is without any doubt my favorite spot in Sri Lanka. I was at the top alone at 3:30AM back in 2009. So many shooting stars, a gorgeous sunrise and then a lovely walk down. After more than 10 years in Asia, still one of the more special days for me.

My suggestion :- Explore southern and northern areas. Even though southern area is a big tourists attraction there are a lot of places foreigners don't usually explore. Combined with north you can experience the whole range of culture, weather, ethnic diversity that sri lanka has to offer. Keep up the good work. Stay blessed. Stay safe.

A fantastic mountain train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella with fantastic scenery along the journey...am loving it. Aha, the price of that piece of snack sold on the train is quite high. Guess it's normal as food and drinks sold on train in Malaysia is expensive too. Very kind of the previous resort owner to give you that delicious snack where you can eat it. Sri Lankan, you all are truly hospitable 👍👍👏

Hi ken, From Ella- to Hatton the , you can go to climb Adam's peak, this is the climbing season-thousands of locals go there, sunrise is beautiful, but avoid weekends and holidays... other option is go to Polonnaruwa ancient city-rent a foot cycles -less crowded Anuradhapura ancient city also local place-you hardly see foreigners.. Dambulla cave temple is also an amazing place ...

The best attractions at Ella are Ella rock, Little Adam's peak(both are mountains and you should be early to see the sunrise) and Rawana Falls within footsteps away from your stay. There is under ground tunnel and pond called Nil Diya Pokuna( Blue water pond) sounds kind of dangerous but you may find it attractive. From Ella you can take the train back to Haputale which is one of the coldest town( for me colder than Nuwaraeliya) and from there you can visit "Lypton Seat" in the early morning and don't forget to have some tea at the top of the Lypton Seat. You visit the Dambethenna tea factory which was called Lypton tea factory earlier. Also you can just take a tuk and go to Ashisham Banglow an old bungalow and then to Bambarakanda falls which is the heighest waterfall in Sri Lanka. One of the scenic journey but to visit all you have to take this ride early in the morning. You got sunburnt since you were there at Nuwaraeliya which was very low humid area and then only you get that. Apply glycerine before you travel on these placea. I suggest you to go to central Sri Lanka and southern part and in Central part you may visit ancient rocks with relics like Seegiriya, Pidurangala and Ritigala and to see lots of wild elephants Minneriya national park. Southern part any coastal area you may never forgotten. Everywhere is very beautiful but full of tourists. Enjoy your stay here and have a worth visit here. Thanks for sharing your experiences...

Hi Ken the 3 areas you mentioned are a must do Galle. Yarlla. Haputale have great water fall 20 min from Berriggla. Sigeria will blow your mind in the centre. The only place to eat in Haputale is Sissarra cafe it a Muslim cafe its clean. Enjoy love from oz

Hi Ken, suggest you to explore Haputale as suggested earlier and then head eastward from there to make the next stops at Passara, Bibile, Gal Oya and Batticaloa. Then you can explore the Eastern Province moving slowly northward as per your convenience. This is not a touristic route but something you can use to explore the real rural Sri Lanka and nature.

Even if it is touristy I recommend you have stop in Sigiriya. I was there in 1977 and found it amazing how they built a castle on the rock. I think the tuk tuk driver is a genuine guy because he charged only Rs.300 which is the same price for local. Hats off man! And Ken, enjoy Ella! My suggestion for you to explore (Obviously you will explore ella and little adams peak). 1.Adisham Bungalow and Thangamale santuary (Haputale) 2. Lipton seat (Haputale) 3. Ideally, starting with the north, east coast and southern beaches. That is three but since the north is not much explored there may be very little to see so spend a minimal amount of time there and then head to the east coast and finally the southern beaches. I really like how you are so relaxed and worry-free when travelling! If my train gets delayed for even just 10-15 minutes, I get quite anxious. Watching you relaxing and taking it slow is very zen for me, hahah. And it's so nice that the guy reminded you of your bag! Hi Ken My suggestion is you must visit southern part. 👍👌Galle fort bit crowded with locals and foreigners but architectural and historical wise best place to visit. Then go to rural side avoiding busy places with full of foreigners. Then go to northern part. Definitely you will like it. It’s totally suits you. Less foreigners rural villages and you can explore village life of the tamil community in sri lanka. Also you can try some different type of foods. It is possible to rent a scooter from there too. Love your positive energy ken. Always have a smile on your place. We love you ❤️🇱🇰
