As a dietitian I can't help but ask the question, what is the lean muscle mass ratio in people with this? In my experience of physically assessing patients, this fat distribution is accompanied with low muscle mass. Losing wt with diets like keto is a great strategy but without incorporating muscle building, circulation, lymphatic, & bone health health will all be impacted. Inability to build muscle could have other causes, but often its inadequate protein intake.

I have Lipedema & Lymphedema. I was, bedbound, in the nursing homes for 10 years, being treated for end of life care at 900 lbs. Once I realized I had these diseases, I put myself on a low carb diet & lost 520 lbs, by myself -- still being bedbound. After that, I had to learn how to walk again, & many steps later, I am now 660 lbs lighter & living on my own. It can happen & can be changed. Great job, Siobhan!

I had lipodema but I’ve had surgery in Cologne Germany on my legs. It was like liposuction but they used a special technique to not harm the lymphatic systems. It required two surgeries, the first on the inner legs and the second on the outer legs. I had to wear surgical tights for months and have lymphatic drainage massages. Today I wear normal trousers and I can even wear boots. My legs no longer hurt. They no longer swell and throb at night. I look normal. My legs aren’t slim but normal. I am so grateful.

Yes we didn't have time to get into it, but surgery is definitely a useful option for some -- it's an individual choice, of course, as not everyone feels it's appropriate for their situation, but I do know plenty of people where it really did improve their life. I'm glad to hear it was helpful for you!

Your discussions were very helpful and informative. I didn’t know that I had lipedema till a masseuse asked me what I was doing about it. I just thought it was my bad luck, in a way it was, but I didn’t know it was an actual diagnosis. I was 60 years old and stage 2. So I started researching. It got worse as you said, with puberty, pregnancy and menopause. I’ve also learned that it is more prevalent among women with Irish or German ancestry but I haven’t seen a study about that.

@PawsomePortraits67 Actually, recent research has shown that doing a low-carb or keto diet (rich in omega 3's, C15, C8, and avoiding seed oils!) prevents gallblader stones. It is quite a complex disease, what probably happens is that when you have obesity ( and lipedema) you have a lot of inflamation running amok in your body, this inflames the liver, gallblader and pancreas to varying degrees and turns giving you diseases. I would theorize ( but of course I cannot know for sure), that JoyAmor already had some latent issues from her eating habits, as sugar causes inflamation in lipedema patients, and sugar+ vegetable oils is even worse for us.Thus, from years eating food with sugar and vegetable oils, maybe eating other highly processed food (not knowing the threat and damage these foods where doing to her body), she gave herself the gallstones. Then she did keto, and her gallblader was already damaged (it is hard to get an ultrasound without symptoms). The fats irritated her gallblader, because the gallblader had to make lots of bile to break out the fat, but it alread was blocked, so she had a gallblader colic and went to the hospital. Of course, this is a hypothetical scenario. Normally, the consumption of healthy fats ( even at a surplus) forces the gallblader to completly empty itself. Because it regularily empties itself, it does not develop gallstones. When you go low-fat you put you at risk because the gallblader is underactive and then it might not completly empty itself. I have stage 1 lipedema on my legs and arms, and keto, exercise and intermittent fasting really helped bring inflamation down. I also managed to lose weight (I was already in type 2 obesity on my way to being hypertense and diabetic), and now lost 30 kg. I think if you do not have any underlying medical issues you should try again... I know it is hard to start, you feel like you have no energy, but once your body gets used to using your own fat and the fat you eat for energy, then you will feel healthier and without so much pain.

I have always had that problem that it pains terribly when my blood pressure gets taken. Then they tell me: "Calm down!" Nobody believes that it actually pains like hell. After watching this video I examined that area and found lots of moving nodules under my skin. I resonate so much with what Siobhan said, that I sometimes will eat only meat at night and after a whole week still didn't lose any weight. Everybody thinks that I must be cheating! For me it is normal to weigh up to 2 kg more in the evening than in the morning.

Needs to be research into angiomyolipomas, lipomas and angiolipomas and their connection with lipoedema or lipolymphoedema. I started off with one angiomyolipoma in 2008 and now in 2024 have 4 of them; I have lipomas on my body externally too. Got wrongly diagnosed with lymphoedema by my doctor in May 2023. Due to lack of awareness, information or advice, I self-referred to lymphoedema clinic at local hospice where nurse correctly diagnosed me with lipoedema since puberty and mild secondary lymphoedema. I'm 75 now and in the uk.

Thank you and Siobhan for bringing so much light to this condition. I've been talking about this since 2018 to help Black people across the world become aware of the condition. I was diagnosed when I was 38 years old. I have used storytelling to help people understand the myriad of symptoms and physical attributes of Lipedema. There are so many. I don't have the "typical" Lipedema body proportions and that prevented me from being diagnosed when I sought it out. Dr. Amron eventually diagnosed me and I will never forget the feeling of being validated by a doctor. So many of us need MDs to catch up. Thank you!

@smooth_pursuit Yes, it is! EDS, for me, the hypermobility type. If you suspect you have it, look up The Beighton Scale and ask your doctor to go through it with you. It is a diagnostic tool. Additionally, this type of EDS is also closely associated with a form of dysautonomia called POTS which causes low blood volume and pooling of blood in lower extremities, and a very high heart rate when standing (that can result in syncope, aka fainting). There are dozens more symptoms related to POTS as well. If you suspect you have POTS, please ask your doc to perform a "poor man's tilt table test" which can be a very accurate assessment to see if you need an actual tilt table test at a hospital. Best of luck to you!

It was airport security that led me to learning about Lipedema. I’ve had it since puberty but was diagnosed in 2017. I spent most of my life dieting and feeling embarrassed by my arms and legs, and having trouble finding clothes that fit my disproportionate body. The reason I started researching my legs is because I kept being pulled aside at TSA while traveling. It didn’t matter what I wore or how I prepared for TSA, they would still pull me aside. A few times I was asked if I had any metal rods. Another time I taken to a back from and searched under my clothes. I was in tears. When I got home, I googled, “fat legs TSA” and found a woman’s blog about Lipedema and she described my entire life. No matter how much weight I lost, my legs and arms would stay several sizes bigger. Sadly, I started getting pain around this time as well. My advice to any woman who is experiencing pain in their legs is to buy a vibration plate. It really does help the pain for me.

Dr Berry you mentioned this condition in passing a year ago and it caught my attention because I thought that sounded like me. It turns out I have stage 3. Going carnivore 10 months ago has dramatically changed my life. I've been able to lose 70 pounds and the bruising and pain is so much better. I've gone from a tight size 16 to a size 2 jeans. My upper arms, thighs and calves are still noticeably larger than the rest of me, but in clothes I now look like a normal person! Carnivore is the key. I had done dirty Adkins and dirty keto religiously in the past. In my opinion that's not enough for those of us with Lipedema. Not only did I gain the weight back, but I wasn't able to lose the amount of weight I now have. I'm now down to my high school weight. A year ago, the lipedema was so bad that the nodule pockets in my upper arms and upper thighs were starting to twist. I still have the nodules all over, and the pockets, but the fact that I was able to lose weight on carnivore and make all my symptoms better is nothing short of a miracle. Thank you for talking about this condition and bringing us such a well-respected expert on the subject. So many women have this condition and don't know it! I now see it everywhere I go.

And I forgot to mention in my post above that I didn't learn about this until I was 63 years old! I can go back through old photos and trace the development to when I was 13 in puberty. I attributed my abnormally large legs to being an equestrian. Then I developed abnormally large upper arms in my late 30s early 40s. I started getting the cuffing in my ankles around age 50. This can be tracked through photos. The ankle cuffing started in my late 50s. And in the photo they showed today with the twisting I see I was clearly late stage 2 early stage 3 a year ago before I started carnivore.

After complaining to my doctor the last couple of years about the pain that I have in my lower calves when anything presses against them, about six months ago, I brought it up again and I was told “it’s lipdema, which means you are holding too much water in your legs and that is where the pain comes from”. I have had this pain in my legs for at least 20 years, but the older I get the more it has bothered me. I’ve not finished listening to the recording, but I already appreciate this video. I’ve already sent it to my sister and told her to watch it, because she has it too. 😊

Lipodema is not WATER in the legs, it's expanded and inflamed fat cells. Water retention is lymphodema. Most doctors have no idea what lipodema is or that it exists.

I am a massage therapist and always see so many sick people on my table. I took Lymphatic Drainage massage training and it is extreeemely light touch!! People with this condition should be getting proper lymph massage and hopefully do infrared saunas and infared light therapy to help with the swelling and inflammation. Im grateful you did this interview 🙏 massage therapy is gaining in modality for healing. Lymphatic is so light and there are medical grade Lymphatic therapists who are better skilled to work on patients with actual lipedema.

I've definitely found it helpful! Manual lymph drainage is often recommended for those with lipedema due to the swelling component, but yes we usually recommend people verify the lymphatic therapist is used to lipedema because if they have pain then an even more gentle touch and a lot of communication can be helpful.

THIS. My Mom says lymph massage is so light, it's like butterfly wings fluttering on the skin. However, she has had a massage from a massage therapist who claimed he could do lymph massage but he was way too rough, pressed too firmly and caused pain and swelling. Thank you for saying this so people know. I think there are too many mt's who claim they can do lymph massage but have no clinical training to do so, and can actually do a lot of damage.

@@meganharper6566 a good natural way to also flush the lymphatic system is to bounce on a rebounder mini trampoline. You have to keep your feet on the mat and gently bounce is really good for circulation and stimulating the lymph.. also I'm recently reading up on how Vitamin B6 or the better form is P5P which is activated form of B6 that can help with edema amd swelling. Just took this during Pms and I was constantly going to the bathroom which was good and quickly reduced my pain from bloat so that's also worth looking into.

I’m 51 years old and most definitely have it! I’ve never been diagnosed but the description fits me. One of the things I noticed after being keto for about a year (I’m 6 years keto now), was that my fat cells shrunk and no longer hurt as much. My legs and arms were extremely sensitive to touch and my husband teases me and calls me fragile still, but it is a lot less. I have never been obese , but I was about 30 pounds overweight. I’ll never have beautiful legs but I accept I know now that working out is not going to completely fix it. Diet is so important.

I wonder if Darko Velcek's Self-Healers Protocol would be helpful? I started to get swelling in my calves down to my ankles, and I can normalize them within a few days, to a week, Drinking lots of water with salt (sea salt), using a Chi machine that wags my legs left to right and back again, eating carnivore, taking whole body enzymes that digest scar tissue, and using far infrared (mat, dome or traditional). The SHP uses salt water in a concentration similar to blood plasma, and Darko says that it helps the body detoxify via osmosis. I can get results with just that, but when I add the components that help dissolve fibrinogen/old scar tissue, Keep out the sugars that form those problems, utilize my skin to sweat things out, as I flush all of my circulatory systems (blood, lymph, electrical/energetic), The effect is faster and my joints behave better and I have less discomfort. Maybe you can Progress to the point where a rebounder or vibrating plate is doable as well.

This old iPad is unpredictable. It looks like my answer was posted five times or something like that. But I wanted to add for others here that my favorite brands, After doing lots of research and using them for years, Cellerciser for the rebounder, and Becky Chambers products for the whole body vibration. Check weight limits of your product, whatever you buy. if you need some thing that is safe across the lifespan, look at that as well because you might have a wide range of ages in your family that you want to accommodate. Maintenance free is a big deal and that’s why I didn’t go for the bungee products. and of course, the footprint of the product is important when you have to navigate the square footage… And the whole body vibration products need an electrical outlet, while the rebounder does not. Oh, and if you have Any kind of implanted device, like an artificial lens after cataract surgery, plates etc., you'll want to check in with an expert before choosing a vibration product, and whether it’s even appropriate for you in the first place.

Just wanted to share dot I met Siobhan Huggins and Leslyn at Low Carb Denver, 2023… I watched their presentation at Low Carb Denver It was not until I met both of them, did I ever hear of Lipedema. We had a hallway conversation after their presentation (by that point, I had been on Keto for a year and a half and lost 130 pounds ).. I had an extensive conversation with Leslyn and Siobhan after their presentation at Low Carb Denver, only to find out (via old pictures of myself before I lost the weight that I showed them), that I had/have most of the traditional signs of lipedema. It was good for me to find out that Keto/Keto-vore/Carnivore is the best nutritional way to lose excess weight, as well as other methods to work on the lipedema situation… A BIG THANK YOU TO SIOBHAN AND LESLYN FOR THEIR BEAUTIFUL INFORMATION & SUPPORT OF PEOPLE WITH THIS DISEASE THAT I HAD NEVER HEARD OF UNTIL LOW CARB DENVER. I feel that I have had this situation since I was a teenager… When white go-go boots were in style (very big fashion statement in the early 70s…Lol), I never could wear them because my calves (as well as other parts of my body from the waist down) were too big, at least now I know why. I could never buy clothes that were the same size on top and bottom… I always had to buy 2 to 4 sizes bigger for my bottom half… Again, at least now I know why… We need to support this amazing work in anyway we can.

I cried watching this. It’s about me!! Been told I’m chronically obese, had lap band 22 years ago, didn’t work. Had it removed. As diagnosed with lymphoedema after hysterectomy at 28, from endometriosis complications, grew huge arms and legs. Told to get compression stockings to ease pain I would need a doplar test yearly, but , I cried during the pressure during the test and they said as my legs were so thick , the blood vessels couldn’t give a proper reading. I had bruises on legs, and pain for weeks. So, no pressure garments for me. I buy tube dressing in smaller size and use them to ease my pain. No other treatment is offered. I’m going to tell my doctor that I think I have this condition, and hope I get some help. I’m 72 and fed up of nasty comments that I’m fat , my arms are so embarrassing, but I also can’t stand the heat, I can’t cover up, even in winter. So my arms hang down and are ugly. I am keto, lost 30 kilos and then no more. But have cured non alcoholic chirrosis of the liver and insulin resistance, which is good. Thankyou to both of you for this enlightening video. Bless you both from Perth Western Australia.

It's always so interesting to see the different ways people have approached this disease. I'm 38 now. I was diagnosed in 1996 when I was 10. My pediatrician basically said that there was no cure or treatment and that I'd always have big legs. I've always been an athlete, but it was hard because I was always in pain. I started running 3 years ago (marathons mostly) and recently started competing in triathlons. Last year, the pain got so bad that I could barely walk from room to room. I found an amazing Lipedema specialist in Florida and had 3 surgeries (lower legs, upper legs and upper arms to elbows) last April, July and August. All covered by insurance (Anthem BCBS of CA). I'm so thankful for my doctor for giving me a life I never expected to live. A life free of pain. A life with fairly normal looking legs and arms. 4 weeks after my last surgery, I managed to run the Chicago Marathon. It wasn't my fastest marathon, but it was my first marathon I finished joint-pain free. It was so emotional. I still have to wear compression daily, as I do still deal with inflammation. Keto/Low Carb actually made me gain weight. So if this has happened to anyone else with this disease, a low-fat, moderate carb and slightly higher protein intake allowed me to drop a lot of weight and non-Lipedema fat and keeps me energized for my marathon and triathlon training. So few doctors know about this. And even fewer non-doctors know about this. This is an excellent video and I'm so thankful it has so many views.

Thank you so much for bringing this further into the light. I'm a lifelong Lipedema and now lymphedema (legs & Upper arms). started gaining at 9 years old. Extremely painful in BP cuffs etc. Gastric sleeve surgery could only lose so much never touched lipedema areas. Keto has helped improve my limbs but doesn't take it down far enough. Doctors have never used the term "lipedema" for my condition. I literally studied online to find it several years ago and example pics and knew I must have it. I even asked my bariatric surgeon if I had it and he was clueless. Had never heard of the condition and that was in 2018. I had to tell him there were Stanford studies being done on it. I asked if he thought the surgery would allow me to lose on my legs he assured me I would lose. Since then my GP didn't know about it and I have asked that they look into it further for different treatments. Appreciate all your work Dr. Berry and Ms. Huggins!

Hi Kelley, you might want to try looking into the carnivore diet for a while and see if you have any benefit. I’ve felt those nodules in my legs and they would be very painful to the touch. And I started gaining weight and I was worried that this was going to be a bigger issue as I got through menopause. But, since being on the carnivore diet this summer, I’ve seen a huge improvement. I don’t have those painful spots in my legs anymore. I still have some little nodules, that I’m working out hopefully. The little nodules are much tinier than before and they’re not painful anymore. I can just sort of feel them still. But they have dramatically reduced. Give it a try. At least try it for a week or two. You’ll be surprised at how much inflammation is reduced. It’s amazing. The inflammation is what really hurts the most. And I think it really Makes the fat hurt.

Seems lipedema is a new discussion by doctors, lymphatic drainage massage therapy helps drain xtra lymphatic fluid that may be place pressure on nerves of the body. This isn’t just one or two massages, regular light massage initially 2-3 times a month, training how to do self massage at home to reduce pain, there maybe foods that reduce the incidence of this from occurring, there’s not just one thing but many things that may help with the pain.

I had never heard of it, he took one look at my legs and told me immediately I had lipedema. I was a size 4 at the time of my diagnosis. My upper half was an extra small and my ribs showed because I had a tendency to starve myself due to about 16 years of trying to lose excess weight in my legs, but never being successful. But like I said, I was a size 4 and still small at 5’ 6.5” and 130lbs. I could hide it from everyone until I was bare legged. I haven’t worn shorts since I was 17, maybe 18. I’m 46 now. Mine came in around puberty and got worse after pregnancy, but keto is helping me keep it under control. I only have my legs and arms affected by it. I will mention that even as a child the blood pressure cuff hurt like a mofo! I’m a massage therapist specializing in lymphatic manual drainage. About 4 yrs ago I had a client come in who was diagnosed with lipedema. I knew that’s what I was experiencing as she started to explain and educate me. I had never heard this term before. Even as a LMT certified in lymphatic massage. After she left, I started researching and found myself with so many emotions because I just found THE missing piece to my “health journey”puzzle. So much made sense!!! I am perimenopausal now and I am back on to research lipedema as my symptoms are getting worse and I am looking for diagnoses and options for surgery. Especially after adding carbohydrates back in for the holiday season. I know I need to reset and be more proactive again. I was so excited when I saw this come through KZbin feed. It’s inspiring me to go deeper with my own healing and also offer support and education to my clients. I am seeing more clients with lipedema and I send links to them, but I feel it’s time to expand and bring more awareness into my practice. Thank you for the amazing interview and bringing this to your platform!!! More awareness is definitely needed!!!

If you haven’t tried incorporating the carnivore diet, I would highly recommend you do so. Just read the comments on some of the other carnivore videos about how many people are benefiting. It reduces your inflammation dramatically. Which helps reduce the pain in the fat. That’s what it’s done for me. All the weight loss is a huge bonus, of course.

This is me! I will admit I could stand to lose 20-30lbs. BUT all my life even when I was super thin - like ribs and sternum showing - I still always had thick thighs, like all the way to my knees, and then normal calves. And I've always had thick arms. Like I couldn't wear buttoned cap sleeves, because my arms were so thick. Like even at my elbows, I had thick fleshy elbows. I've always hated my arms and legs.

WOW! Finally a diagnosis! I have such pain with dynamap b/p machines. My arms have lipedema. The fat cells are the size of a peanut m&m's, fused together nodules...Easly palpable. I also carry weight like the stage 2 photo. I have pain and bruising when my blood pressure is taken, or with excessive weight or pressure on my thighs. The lipedema began when I was 9 and started my period. It continued to worsen wth each pregnancy. However, I started strict carnivore 6 weeks ago. I am amazed at the changes in my body. I have lost 10 inches off my arms to date! I am totally amazed, Dr Berry! Thank you soooo much!

After being misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia and cellulite for decades, I was recently diagnosed with lipedema. I always wondered why every time I would eat a healthy well formulated keto diet, I could not lose what I called "ugly legs." I would be "fit" everywhere else but never in my hips and legs. I am so grateful not only to learn that I was not as obese as everyone thought but I now have a way to understand the ailment, the pain, and overcome the depression! BTW thanks to Dr. E. Westman for just taking a quick look at my body and saying, "I think you have lipedema."

I struggle with excessive pain in my arms and legs, calves and swelling. Been strickt carnivore since October and only lost 10kg. Now suddenly gaining. Wish I can find a dr Berry in South Africa. I saw a picture of lipedema and immediately recognized myself. Growing up, I always thought I didn't want to be like my mom. I'm exactly like my mom. In 4th grade, a teacher told me I needed to go on a diet if I wanted a boyfriend. On top of that, there was a lot of friction at home between my mom and dad about money. My twin sister and I went around our neighborhood picking up dog poop to help out. I suppressed a lot of my emotions, and by twelve, my allergy doctor had me on Xanax for stress. Siobhan talked about stress affecting the hormones, food sensitivity, and health genetics ties to lipedema. I brought up this topic with my doctor, and she told me she did not know anything about lipedema. I explained the symptoms and showed her pictures of the different stages of lipedema, and she referred me to weight management and said I might need to go through treatment with ozempic. This was in October 2023, and my appointment with weight management is in October 2024. She immediately listed me as morbidly obese. I AM NOT GOING TO TAKE OZEMPIC. I'm not even sure weight management is the right place to seek answers. I'm 60 and have undergone 20+ surgeries, including a vertical sleeve gastraectomy and suffer chronic pain. It is very difficult for me to exercise to lose weight however everyday is a new day. Thank you for saying you were wrong about calling women like my mom and me cry babies and telling us to eat less and exercise more. I cried just thinking what my mom went through and how demoralizing it was.

Thank you for this. I think telling our stories helps build a picture of the possible causes of this horrible disease. Personally I believe reducing inflamation is key to helping lipedema, and we know Keto and Carnivore are extremely anti inflamatory. Simply reducing the amount of food whilst still eating the standard American diet certainly doesn't work in my opinion. And it's interesting that you mention stress especially when growing up, as I believe this could be a huge factor as well. The more you look into Lipedema you discover that it is really a connective tissue disorder and many people who suffer from it also suffer gastrointestinal problems, myself included. You sound like a smart lady I'm sure you'll find what works for you. Take care :)

It’s fun, effortless and takes about 10 minutes a day to gently bounce like a baby in the crib. Strongly recommend trying this with or without these issues. I’ve lost 133 lbs so far doing keto low carb and fasting. It’s crazy how easy this has been. I’ve lost over 100 lbs before the hard way - counting calories and massive exercise. This is absolutely sustainable.

I’m glad you were talking about this, because so many women are unaware of this diagnosis. I actually had to go to an endocrinologist out of town in order to get my diagnosis. While getting a diagnosis, I was told that there is not enough research and there’s really nothing that can be done for me. Well, that’s not true because I’ve been able to help myself by changing my diet. But then, of course medical doctors don’t understand nutrition. Thank you for talking about this important topic.

I self-diagnosed my lipodema in my late 40’s after stumbling upon a Facebook group about it. I sent my doctor KZbin videos about it and she diagnosed me with it after watching them. Prior to that, she never heard about lipodema. I gained 30 pounds after the onset of puberty. I gained weight after my pregnancy and then I went into early menopause at age 40. It was only after menopause that I developed a lot of fat in my stomach. I was in the military for 24 years and always struggled with meeting the weight requirements. I also gain muscle weight very quickly. Even when I was in shape, my bottom half was always bigger than my top half.

I started watching your videos March '23 because I follow another KZbinr who mentioned your name and the carnivore diet. I am very happy to say I'm losing weight, BP has gone down, my cholesterol is also down. My doctor is happy and wants me to continue. My next visit with my cardiologist, I have arrhythmia and high blood pressure, is this May and I'm hoping I can finally get off the medications. I'm 65 and feel like I'm in better health than when I was younger. I thank God for you every day for spreading the word. I've watched other videos of people with other health issues and especially the young man that was on last week about his colon being removed. It just breaks my heart. If their doctors had them at least try the carnivore diet they would have added to the quality of their lives a lot earlier. I remember when Dr Atkins first started talking about the low carb diet; which I did go on. How the medical community treated him. Thank you again. Blessings.😊

I have had this for a very long time . I had severe liver cancer, which I was not told about until 8 years after the MRI that showed it. A specialist said it was stage 4, Luckily it wasn’t treated, so I am still here. I got the lesions on my liver from birth control pills. I believe most cases are caused by the same thing. That is why they won’t diagnose it, because they would lose their most profitable drug. I’ve used Atkins diet and have lost 160 pounds so far. It is similar to keto. The reason these diets work so well is because we are cutting out the carbs that are full of chemicals, mostly from glyphosate (roundup)spray. I’ve found the best is to mostly eat meat that is locally sourced, especially bison and your own garden vegetables. Do not eat anything with soy or canola oil. Butter and coconut oil are best, but again you need to watch the source. They say to cut out dairy. This is because of the pasteurization and processing. If you have your own cow or a neighbor’s cow, or some organic stores. I believe the Lipoedema is caused by the lymph system dumping water and toxins into the arms, legs, belly and butt. The reason is usually because of the state of the liver. Healing your liver is a big key to healing and losing the water and toxins in the body. Jan. 16, 2024.

Yes! I think this is why there are so many puffy people in the US as compared to other countries. I have been thinking on this issue for literally decades and have just recently come to the same conclusion - it's our food and the damage caused in the body - mainly the liver and later kidney and also the digestive system. But what can one do when all our food is like this? Buying organic is very expensive if you are on a tight budget. Myself, I try to buy organic for butter and meat, but can't always get it as I have to depend solely on delivery shopping service. I am allergic to the herbs that really help the liver and also estrogen issues. My mother was very alcoholic during pg and am convinced I have weak liver and my sister has bad kidneys. Both of us cannot tolerate black cohosh. Unable to go carnivore due to intestinal reactions. It seems whatever problem I have, the solution is also harmful. But I definitely relate to the EXTREME pain caused by blood pressure cuffs. I don't go to dr because they have no comprehension of how nutrition affects the body, ditto chemicals (since they promote chemical drugs as a "cure").

I self diagnosed with lipedema about 3 months ago when I realized my oversized arms were lumpy and painful. I also had a clump of fatty tumors in one arm. I went organic grassfed keto with restricted eating window and started massaging the lipidematous areas and providing compression. When I added daily CBD cream and ginger oil treatments on the arms the pain and lumpiness changed dramatically, including reduction of the tumors. I for years had an infrared sauna mat that seemed to help but it recently broke and I am noticing the difference so got a small red light device and am using it daily as well. I also added vigorous shaking and isometric exercises for the arms. I was rebounding several times a week for six months until I had to stop due to aggravation of a knee issue, so I did water workouts which also helped -- planning to go back to that. Arms are now miraculously almost normal size and I've lost several dress sizes. I'm now working on the painful areas of lipidema in my legs -- will keep you posted. I'm finding I need low dairy mostly carnivore and eat limited vegetables but need some carbs -- in the form of fruit. Will try eliminating all dairy to see what happens. I also supplement K2 and occassionally K1. Feels super important to me. I'm also hypermobile (Ehler-Danlos) and left dominant fluid retention in case these details are useful to you.

I come crying to them for help and they are excited to see me and can't wait to see what I'll teach them. She was so kind and went through exactly what I was experiencing. At this point I could hardly walk and no help. Everyone gave up on me. She told me exactly what I had and how to go about getting help. She was my miracle. I bruise like crazy and my legs feel like cement at times. The pain is insane at times. I have it in my arms too. I've gone to the extreme of having VSG done and I have a horrible eating disorder that I'm being treated for. All of this is because of my lipedema. Please please let people know if you see them.
