Those enemies are exactly why after 40 years of morbid obesity and a series of yo yo dieting using low fat, eat less, move more, etc., I've finally gotten 2 1/2 years of success with keto and IF!!! Never before have I been able to handle those other "diets" for more than a year. 100 pounds gone! Only 30 pounds left to lose and then the rest of my life to enjoy keto! You, Neisha, Dr. Fung and others have helped more than you know. THANK YOU!!!

For me, the enemy of weight loss turned out to be the medical professionals who kept telling me to eat less and exercise more, which I was already doing, and to maintain a low fat diet. That led to weight loss failure, and weight gain over 40 years. It wasn't until I contracted Type 2 diabetes and learned that the real enemy was high insulin levels. Since then I have lost 180 pounds and no longer have numbers in the diabetes range.

The social interactions around eating can also create situations that pressure you to get eating cake or pies lol you have to be assertive and the BEST defense is to have a photo of yourself from before on your phone to flash to your crowd that is the main defense for NOT going back lol

This is definitely true. I have tried to convince people who need keto to give it a shot, but they often do not want to try it. I think it is strong solution aversion; they don't like the solution of giving up comfort foods so they ignore the fact that those foods are causing their health problems. I try to explain that you gain far more than you give up, but the addiction is too strong.

My suggestion is to add real human food: raw meat, milk, cheese, fat (butter, suet, tallow, bone marrow, ghee). Walk as much as you wish and as comfortably you can. This should help greatly with those problems. That’s how I have found relief after the consequences of a major car accident I had.

Because the Big Food Industry fills that "Empty" place that so many people have in their lives due to working all the time, and barely getting by financially. they chemically addict people to foods to stimulate the pleasure center... For those who do not succumb to that? They play on people's guilt by making them think there is something wrong with them, to sell them cheap "pretend healthy" foods to hit that "Sweet" spot from a different direction.

I can easily go 16 hours without getting hungry. I eat good human food. Lots of eggs, bacon, steak, chicken, you get it. If I do happen to get hungry before my 16 hours, I have a hard boiled egg or 3, or whatever else I want. I'm finally going in the right direction again! I just have to remember to drink water. Thanks Dr Barry! You have helped me so much!

Carnivore eating and understanding weight is not all in your head, has lit a fire in me. Growing up on the farm we ate a lot of eggs and beef - until the doctors tell you this is unhealthy, eat more vegetables and exercise. LOW FAT or you are going to have a heart attack. Poisoned for 40 years by greed. You have set me free - Carb addiction gone, with all thoughts of food out of my head!! Freedom - finally.

No lie - as I am watching this video, a family member texted me a pic of one of my favorite desserts - no accompanying text - just a pic. I’ve been doing keto for a short while now, down from 216 to 203. This time last year I was 235ish. Thank God I am no longer diabetic. Discovered I was in February and was on 4 pills per day plus insulin injections. Now, nothing. I also had a nephrectomy in March due to cancer. Still cancer free. Not one of the 5 medical professionals I’ve seen this year, who all knew I was diabetic, ever mentioned how to reverse it.

I am a carb addict yet after 10 months ketovore my cravings are 100% gone. These are some learnings that really helped me if anyone is struggling. 1. Avoid sweeteners, they stimulate carb cravings. 2. Don't go cold turkey with carbs, your willpower is not enough. Gradually reduce your sugar intake in line with increasing fat consumption. Allow your body to get used to a proper way of eating. This is a lifetime change, not a race. 3. Always eat until you're comfortably full. Calorie counting is your enemy. 4. Have NOTHING sweet in the house but ALWAYS have animal based foods available like home made beef patties, hard boiled eggs or oven baked lamb chops with crispy fat! It quickly becomes clear that if you feel 'hungry' but don't want to eat one of those snacks, you are not hungry, you're bored or needing an emotional crutch. Being able to tell the difference is a gamechanger. Good luck x

I bet that happens most when you're bored, lonely, stressed or have a feeling of your life being inadequate. Develop things that are engrossing, engaging, calming and fulfilling that you can use instead. The specifics will be unique to you. You need an emotional management toolkit that works to give you the dopamine and serotonin hit that carbs formerly provided.

Since being on the carnivore diet for one week, I've lost 7 pounds, my inflammation is noticeably reduced, and I'm not hungry all of the time!

You’re such a Godsend, Dr. Berry. I agree on all points. My biggest hurdle has been coming to terms with the understanding that I simply cannot eat at any restaurant as I have zero control over what the kitchen uses. I miss the flavors found in the dishes served in ethnic restaurants. As a Texan, make a plethora of good Southern choices in a Keto version, but it’s tricky to learn how to prepare other recipes without having those ingredients on-hand. It’s a learning curve to be sure.

I've been a follower for a couple of years now and had great health success. The enemy i face are not only the physicians i have personally seen but also the medical facility i work for. These professionals advise against the use of a keto or carnivore diet and theres nothing I can do without being fired. My patients who are made up of 95% type 2 diabetics are fed things like grapes, carrots, apples, potatoes and skim milk with a small peice of chicken on one tray as an example for lunch or for dinner bread with pasta and are then scolded for their high blood sugar and pumped with insulin.

For me one of the biggest problems is convenience. With lives being busy and people find themselves running errands or doing chores, it’s convenient to order a pizza, burger, tacos, etc... there is no food prep or cooking involved. It’s all done for you and all you have to do is sit down and eat.

I think it would be more fair and accurate to say that "food manufacturers" are really biochemical engineers looking to make the most addictive drug .. i mean food they can. It would be better for everyone to realize that ift I isn't actual food yout buying. Your buying a drug. Their's a reason doctors use to perscribe chicken noodles soup for illness. Its because chicken noodles soup use to be made from real bone broth with lots of veggies and chicken and it was well known that a lack of nutrition and stress was driving forces behind illness. This is why food is medicine and manufactured foods are drugs.

I cannot stress how much I love the carnivore "diet". It is the ONLY diet that has removed 100% of my cravings...from day one. I can watch my friends plough through bag after bag of potato chips (my kryptonite), and have zero desire for any. Also, carnivore is the only diet that doesn't cause me any physical discomfort; everything else causes bloating and hurts my gut. For me, my greatest enemy to weight loss is smoking Cannabis. I used to smoke it every night for insomnia (which worked far better than any pill that I'd tried), but had to give it up (reluctantly) because my head would say, "Let's eat EVERYTHING!" And I would. Not because I was hungry, or that it tasted good (usually, I couldn't taste anything), but because my mouth loved the different textures. Now, when I avoid that, and eat only meat, everything is easy-peasy.

Grocery shopping can be a pitfall for carb lovers! When I go grocery shopping there are aisles that I will not go down because they are all filled with junk food. Going down these aisles are too much of a temptation to rationalize and grab one item that you think won't hurt you because it's only one item.

My withdrawal from sugars begs to differ with the Goofru's... I got headaches, became irritable, had problems sleeping (restless), and had serious cravings for various "Frosted" treats or tortes... Tiramisu and Dbl Fudge chocolate cake rolls with sprinkles... I honestly don't crave (or even miss) them at all. I will admit I miss a few Mint Oreo Thins with some Omega 3 enhanced milk (tastes like milk used to taste when I was a kid, organic cottage cheese and sour cream does too)... But I'll survive... I am down 80lbs since April 2020...

I've been following doctor Berry since June this year of 2020. To date, I've lost 80 pounds, restored my blood pressure - right down the middle and moved from borderline type 2 diabetes. I'm not on a diet, I've simple found out what 'real' food is and now I'm consuming 'real' food. Combined with intermittent fasting, I'm now on a 20:4 fast and it has been a super-easy journey. This is a forever thing. I suggest that anybody who can't afford to support Ken Berry on Patron, should consider allowing an ad or two to play to completion - so that he gets the revenue from that.

Mental comfort food during severe stressful times. I have been keto for 3 years and ketovore the past 6 months. I had a horrible stressful situation (beyond normal) and I broke down seeking comfort from food. Everything I went for didn't taste good like I remember how it used to. It didn't matter, my brain kept telling me to keep going. Finally, a week later, I got through a 24 hour fast and am still going. Hopefully a 48 hour fast. Mental is my problem.

Your video opened with a Raisin’ Cane’s commercial, lol! Now that is an issue! They are very popular here in South Louisiana with some of the best breaded fried chicken tenders and fries ever😢. It’s okay, I am not rushing to the nearest one! My biggest concern is the upcoming holidays. None of my family will be eating keto. Even the regulars are planning to cheat. I plan to cook Neisha’s cornbread dressing for me here at home but the kids and their families will be eating mama’s dressing. Yep, I am cooking SAD cornbread dressing for my family! Ah, well, if I make it through Thanksgiving and Christmas, I can do anything. Started out on keto Aug. 11 at 220 lb, blood sugar running 140-160 postprandially. A1C was 6.4. Now weighing 183, blood sugar around 100, postprandial; A1C was 5.4. I am mostly eating carnivore with an occasional veggie. Thank you Dr. Berry!

Until the virus hit and coupled with taking care of family member with health problem. I'm up to 188. And sugar was definitely my escape. Should have realized this years ago. When I was at the 7- 11 I was the only guy grabbing a gallon of milk and a box of cookies. When the other guys were buying beer ! ,(lol) getting back on track but this time it's a up hill battle.

I consider sugar a long-term poison and a drug that is more addictive than some actual illicit drugs. Just because it tastes good, doesn't mean it's healthy and many people don't understand that or they refuse to accept it. Sugar is the real gateway drug and if you want proof, deny a toddler something sweet and watch the tantrum erupt.
