Your hair is beautiful!!!! I am transitioning from relaxed to natural. I am probably 1/2 natural and 1/2 relaxed. You and your sister have provided me with so much inspiration! God bless.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! My hair always got dry after a couple of hours wearing a wash and go but this time it was so moisturized and looked so pretty! I switched the coconut oil with African Shea butter bc my hair is extra dry. I love the catwalk curls too! Thank you so much, you changed my hair life lol!

That seemed like SO much product to me! I feel like if I used that much, I'd be buying product every few weeks! But I guess that's why my curls don't look as good as yours do. Great results; your hair is beautiful!

The appearance of your hair (in terms of thickness/volume) depends on the products you use in your hair. They used different products from each other. It could also be that Kendra's hair is just thicker than Kelsey's..

yes they chopped alll of the permed hair off they just have some looser curls on their head on some parts because they have a curl patter of 3b/3c 3b curls are very loose or corkscrew or ringlets 3c curls are tight ringlets like the girl mona from the show "half and half". but they could have some heat damage but they do not have relaxed or permed or texlaxed ends
@WorldofNene12 жыл бұрын
put your hair in a ponytail at the very top of your head, its used to stretch the curls without heat

i used the three products that she used and my hair was so shiny soft with good hold. I did it on my twist out, but will try them on my wash and go next! Thanks!!

@Ilikefrogs..13 жыл бұрын
I love both of your curly hair, although I like yours better Kendra because it's thicker. What I love about curly hair is that it always looks different and interesting. Straight hair pretty much always looks the same.
@MotherOfSix8912 жыл бұрын
Thank you for doing this video. Your curls are defined and shiny - just what I've been looking for. Even though I am still in the BC stage, your tips with regard to what types of products you use are very helpful.
@raye11e11 жыл бұрын
When u go natural the change in texture is caused by how u constantly put water oils and u see how she is smoothing her hair ? That causes the cuticle to lay down flat causing less breakage sealing moisture for less split ends and makes hair smoother and shinty , unrelaxed hair does not get wet and people avoid moisture causing the opposite
@MaryMac0413 жыл бұрын
Loved the video!!! I used the pure coconut oil and shea moisture deep treatment mask, which normally does nothing when I use it on my hair alone as a mask, but these two products together made my hair soooo soft!! Thanks :)
@naenirvana13 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say your hair is heat damaged b/c it clearly reverts back to a texture when wet, even if not your original texture. It's more so heat-trained I believe that is what they call it on here...it's the loosening of natural curls by way of heat to make a more defined and stretched natural look w/o chemicals. It's not necessarily bad or good, depends in the person. It's bad if you want your natural curls and good if you like the loosened look. Looks great to me!

i completely agree!! When I was a little kid my mom would have to TUG the comb through my hair and it was just hard to deal with and extremely coarse. As I got older, (im 19) my hair texture has dramatically loosened. I have basically the same hair pattern as the girl in the video now. My mom/hair stylist (both who have relaxers) actually think I'm secretly getting a texturizer on the side, but it's just my hair loosening up.
@miamayamo5 жыл бұрын
what routine do you do to get your hair to loosen up? i have tight coils but would love for my hair to loosen up possibly.. thank you
@Mermaidtrolldoll12 жыл бұрын
It's a satin bonnet. You can get them from stores like Walmart and in beauty supply places.
@FaceGraffiti13 жыл бұрын
@xprettything87 actually their first videos when they were getting ready for church and had not flat ironed for the summer was actually tighter curls, still long and pretty with great shine, but as the videos increased the curls became looser in areas mostly in the front, where we all like to pass the flat iron multiple times, it's not all over where it is almost straight throughout, but it is heat damaged. When you use a temp over 425 degrees the hair denatured and the protein and hydrogen bin
@EchelonBonBon13 жыл бұрын
@oohiitscourt Its best to start fresh and start trimming those damaged ends until you get rid of the damage especially since heat is one of the most damaging things you can do to natuarally curly hair because it is dry by nature. This routine may work for you but it isnt guaranteed because everyone's hair is different so it's important to find what works for you.
@EdenHertz13 жыл бұрын
Thank you to you Kendra and to your sister, this new year beggins pretty well with the Transitionning tips video and this one, really interesting. For the one talking of them having hair damage, yes they did and so what ? It's not a secret, they talked about it in one of their video, and if me, french girl, I can understand that, you can too i guess. In their case, it's just loose curls in some places, not a big deal, they are making hair care and trim their hair often.

People are really upset claiming this girl has "heat damage"! If you watched their videos they say they never did the big chop & they were letting the relaxer grow which is why her ends are somewhat wavy because it is still relaxed hair!!!

Why do people assume you have heat damage when the curl is loose my boyfriend never straighten his hair and he has some looser curls that hang, you can't think everybody's hair is the same. I think people watch too many youtube videos and try to apply it to every youtubers hair thinking they know everything. Kendra & Kelsey already mentioned in one of their other videos that they do get heat damage but come on, hair grows and it will continue because they take damn good care of their hair.

It's probably just water, honestly. It helps to re-wet the hair when applying product so that it all gets absorbed evenly.

I warned y'all about that heat damage, it varies per person how their hair handles heat biologically and molecularly, but still great videos, maybe you guys could do a series on repairing the heat damage by dusting the ends slightly, as many new naturals make the same mistake with blow drying and flat ironing, I know I did, beautiful as always

Why does everyone think KZbin comments are the perfect time to point out everyone's flaws. Ok so her texture is looseness from heat.... That does not mean its heat "damaged" or it would be dry, brittle, breaking off. She's using her time to do this video to help other women. So show some respect and stop being so rude! Her hair is gorgeous and healthy!

@KBLEE16 they said that their hair was shoulder length when they started transitioning and they gradually trimmed during their almost 2yrs of transitioning they stated in previous videos they no longer have any relaxed ends and if there are straight pieces its from heat damage which they admitted also their first videos were almost a yr ago so you can just look and see how much their hair has grown

Thank You for this video! You and your sister are beautiful...Don't really get all the discourse about your loose curls or heat damage, ppl are really amusing sometime with what they concern themselves with. At any rate your hair is beautiful and I too have thick curly hair, not perfect curls but its curly and thick And I will start using your hair regime for curls I noticed when I use the natural oils my curls pop without gel. And I also started using a cream with Shea butter! Blessings to You!

Hello Kendra I have a daughter whose 14 and loves you and Kelsey so much. She is natural never had any chemicals. She loves the curly look and we have purchased some of the products and now trying out your curly hair techniques. She is learning how to do her own hair and wanting me to ask you how long does curls last and what do you do when the style is old and the curls are not as fresh? Should she do this routine every couple of days or just re wet and re apply the curly products?
