As a black woman I whole heartedly understand why some of you are saying I should have hung up immediately. I believe every black person has their own individual right to feel how they feel about that word. As I mentioned in this video, I grew up with Latino people using it. I know some black people who haven’t and they are not okay with Latino people using it. I also know black people who don’t like anyone using it. In this woman’s case she was introduced to the word by being abused. She is dealing with more than I am able to diagnose and I pray she gets therapy.

This was a triggering interview for me. I don’t like anyone saying the n-word, but especially people who don’t identify as Black American. I have ended friendships with Latina women bc they used the word. And these Latin girls could’ve been lifelong friends with me. But I cannot allow anyone not Black to refer to me as that word.
