Family Matters breakdown still on the way, just thought it would be cool to take a look at some of the history behind this beef for those tryna figure out how tf we got here like me. thanks for watching and lmk what videos you'd wanna see next down below
@Muntw.2.06 ай бұрын
Am I wrong to think Family Matters actually hints at what Kendrick was going to do next? Particularly the third verse. That track has been overlooked but there's a lot of bars in there that put things into context. Excited for when the review video drops. You do such a good job with break downs.
@pearlfountain6 ай бұрын
yeah I’m finding a lot of crazy shit from there + the Taylor Made record I’m hype for yall to see the final breakdown
@Muntw.2.06 ай бұрын
@@pearlfountain that third verse is a ticking time bomb. I was rooting for Kendrick but seeing how this turned into a politicised battle being run by the internet's Moral Police I have it at a tie currently. Kendrick as the better emcee for this specific moment (the battle) and Drake just putting a stamp on him being the best rapper in this generation and for the duration of the battle. I'm actually playing more of the Drake tracks than Kendrick's in this battle. Shout out to you Pearl Fountain. I'ma let you work your magic with the videos now. 💯💥
@JamisonRelapse6 ай бұрын
@@Muntw.2.0I like that take. You made a solid case. I’m admittedly biased, and likely seeking this kind of validation. I’m playing the Drake records mostly too, but appreciating Dots even more over time. Everyone has really discounted Drakes use of multi-media in my estimation. Maybe they just gadgets and tricks, but I like magic, and I like tricks. Prolly cause I’m a Drake type

@@lavante8157 if you think he was "clout chasing" you need to freshen up on hiphop history. rappers have always done things that raise the competitive nature of the genre. why do you think everyone always say they are the best in the genre?

I've had this thought for a while now. If you take to pimp and butterfly and Mr. Morale, they were like his heros journey leading up to his finale battle with Drake. In the hero's journey, the main character takes his journey to fight the main villain or the dragon. But before he could defeat the dragon, he must defeat the dragon within. To pimp a butterfly and Mr. Morale is the eternal fight, and at the end of Mr. Moral, before the final track, you hear a woman say you did it, and he then says, "I choose me." I think this was years in the making.

You should of mentioned how Kendrick told him not to apologize and at the end of the beef Drake did just that ran to his record label to get Kendrick to stop
@Rayebae7386 ай бұрын
He saw Drake do some compromising stuff at the beginning of their careers. Kendrick does not morally understand how he can do the things he has done and not have any remorse….. Kendrick pens in the song poetic justice that he codes his lyrics so the industry can keep him on the radio so he can keep pushing music that is for the “culture” . He also says he has to do industry things to fit in but he isn’t doing it for the same reasons as Drake.

I want you to dive into blow my high(memebers only) what does Kendrick know about Aaliyah? The song is a sample of big pimpin by jay z. The first line “taking off while you landing” alludes to the plane crash where Aaliyah dies under sus circumstances. Also the lines” wonder what’s behind them ray bans , eyes of a coward I understand” is this a reference to Stevie wonder. It’s further supported by the line” put a ribbon in the sky and a button on my lips don’t blow my high” ribbon in the sky like the song but also maybe like the smoke off the edge of a blunt. Button on my lips meaning a secret obviously. All these allegation swirling around diddy, drake, jay z. Seems like Kendrick knows something for a very long time. Rip Aaliyah
