Bro i swear. Thats the biggest obvious difference between his and Drakes music. Drake uses the same 2 or 3 flows while Kendrick uses a plethora of flows and his lyrics and delivery just has more substance. One bar can have 3 or 4 different meanings
@PvtFallen7 жыл бұрын
I think the meaning of the video is that people in the black community are taught to fight from birth, and this spirals into senseless violence that leads to only death. It starts with the kid being pure, being risen from the sea as a innocent kid. Next his father (presumably) teaches him how to fight at a young age. When the kid doesn't want to fight, the father slaps him as seen in the video. This shows the kid that he HAS to fight back, their is no other option. By the time he is 8-9, the kid already knows about fighting/violence and this can be seen when he points a gun at a car passing by for no real reason. This kid doesn't know any better because everybody else has been raised that way. Next time you seen him is when he is a young adult (presumably). When he's at this age, the fighting mentality has already been instilled into him. He is seen punching a guy across the face, as seen in the video. Lastly, since everybody else was raised this way, even friends or people who they hang out with each other fight each other constantly. This is shown when the people that are hanging out at the back of the car start fighting each other, for really no reason. Even though they seem to be friends. The people in the video think about "God" (as shown with the nuns) and morals,and in the back of their mind know that this is really an awful way to live, but this is how they have been since birth so why change? Lastly, when there is awareness that they live in this state and there is really no way out of this hell of constant violence and fighting, people take their own lives, as seen in the last part of the video. That's my take on it

Defender of Earth okay, you know that old school rappers, such as Mobb Deep, Grandmaster Flash, Tupac, Biggie, Run DMC, NWA, and MC Lite (and that's just to make a few) rapped about their once impoverished state and how that counteracted with their race.'Race baiter'? Rapping about the things that he's seen happen or that have happened to him doesn't make him a race baiter. It makes him a storyteller. The black race's impoverish state and their outcry against isn't for other people to feel 'sorry' for them. It's a cry for change. It's a call for unity.

My take is this video is about how children learn from their environment. Growing up with violence, the pattern usually gets repeated. The shot of the kid looking through the broken glass, shows the whack perception of reality he's being indoctrinated into. Also the shot of the black guys in nice clothes training to fight, shows how messed up this society is - we live in a culture where violence is rewarded. Violence comes in many forms, one of the most harmful is selfishness. We're all brothers on this planet. Gotta look after each other, change society from within, by each of us finding peace within. That's how you stop violence and cycles of violence, by ceasing to be violent to yourself. All starts here, no lie.
