This song is still one of my favorites on the album. Its fr a war anthem, a hyper aggressive declaration of who kendrick is. Lotta his other songs are more introspective, but this shows that Compton stuff is in his DNA forever, atleast a lil. I like it even more under the context of the reverse tracklist.

He'll go down the GOAT. Dude is dangerous and just getting started. Hopefully 2020 is the release of his next album. I heard it's going to be more rock influenced also. J Cole is another dude releasing his album "The Fall Off" this year. Easily the best rappers this generation and it's not close at all. If anyone says Drake I swear to god. That ain't rap🤣that's nightclub music.

Our unique ethnogenesis/admixture and our lived experiences for generations in this land…we’re truly the products of sex, money, and murder, yet our beautiful, resilient spirits will always prevail. That’s in our DNA. ✊🏾❤️‍🔥

Mike Will said about it: With "DNA.," he [kendrick] went the whole way [through] and then he just started rapping a cappella. He said, 'I just want to see if you can put some drums around this.' I said, 'Man, hell yeah.' But he was going so hard; that man was rapping so crazy. Just imagine him a cappella rapping the second half of "DNA." and I had to build a beat around that. I didn't want the beat to just sound like a regular boom-clap, boom-clap. I wanted that s*** to sound just as crazy. I wanted it to sound like he's battling the beat.

I don't have a mic I have to use my phone, I would love it if you all give me a chance. Tupac, Eminem both were at the same position I'm in right now. Since I'm Indian, everybody laughs and says that I will never be successful. I wanna prove them wrong, I wanna show them that my race is something I can't control. What I can control is, that I try my best. Not saying that you have to like my music, just give me constructive criticism or just give me a chance, Please. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f37Xmn2kiZmgi7c

I know you all have watched the deep dive already, but the concept of this album is true art. Normally, DAMN is a story about Kendrick asking God for forgiveness for his sins, but in reverse, it’s him in a universe where his dad died shutting out God and turning to a life of crime. 10/10.

I am starting to realize how deep Kendrick is. Everything is biblical. It’s super deep. He was calling the bloodline that Drake/the Dragon came from. Nephilim references. If you have discernment it’s so obvious. Holy crap. This guy is the realest.

Ticket on your plate: This is a play on the term “meal ticket”-a way to earn money. Most of Kendrick’s earnings are from his album sales and live performances. The other ticket on his plate is an endorsement deal with Reebok.
