I like the fact that this guy doesn't forget where he's coming from, he basically shot his video in all the spots, compton fashion, juliens liquor store (The spot)...funny to think about it but he lived 2 houses away from me. Now he's living life god knows where. But compton is in his veins.

I love how this guy won the Pulitzer Prize in music. Not in rap, pop, etc - but in the entire universe of MUSIC for 2018. Do you know how many people with a PhD in classical music or jazz he must've pissed off? All of them, is the answer. That is an amazing achievement
@Portthefirst4 жыл бұрын
Pulitzer Prize isn't that great of a deal in music. But, even without all the prizes he has won, he's one of the greatest, he created a legacy that will never be forgotten. Prizes are bullshit if you want to compare quality of something, atleast in rap. Look at Nas, we all know that he didn't won big prizes, but he's one of the greatest rappers to ever touch a pen. Music is relative, prizes can't be used as a measure.
@wk9614 жыл бұрын
@@Portthefirst it's a big deal because it awards based on artistry alone. Whereas the Grammys and other awards choose their recipients based on sales, radio play, and other commercial factors. The Pulitzer Prize committee doesn't care about popularity or revenue potential. They only focus on the contribution the artist has made to the body of artistic work.
@Portthefirst4 жыл бұрын
Will B you can check in google, in the music section it's not that much of a deal. You have plenty of albums/ songs that have better body artistic of work, one of them is Lupe Fiasco - Mural. But, nevertheless as I told you, rap is domething different, no prizes can truly determine if a rapper is better than the other, and Nas, Hov, Em, Rakim, G Rap, Kendrick, Lupe Fiasco, the whole Wu Tang and so on told us that. Glad to live in an era where I can listen freely these rap songs, it's wonderful.

What makes Kendrick so great is the different instruments he puts together and the number of words and rhymes he could fit into a verse and still have all make sense and tie up nicely at the end. This is something I haven't seen from Drake yet. He keeps his bars and rhymes short and simple. It's really easy to keep up along with Drake and follow the lyrics in his songs. Kendrick can go off and lose you quick if you ain't careful.

Ladennifer Jadaniston what a dumbass you are. Regarding today's hip hop, we all say its dead because literally all of them talk about bitches and cars etc but Kendrick, J cole, Lupe fiasco are saving desperately hip hop's reputation among people. There's no such thing as white rappers ruined it. I mean get me one name, just one white rapper who ruined hip hop. Hip hop is a black thing. What does that mean? That means if some white dude wants to enter the industry he simply should be at his best because racist critics will follow his lyrics, line by line just to see any flaws to talk about online and go on with the saying whites can't rap. On the other hand we all know how shitty Meek Mill, Young Thug, Rick Ross, Rich homie Quan, Wale, 2chainz are. The obvious is that they don't have to worry about their lyrics because hip hop is their thing. Critics will never say blacks can't rap, they'll criticize the rapper not the whole race!

This song has a truly deep meaning to me. Back in my old runescape days before they added the ability to rest to obtain stamina to run, I would always be walking. Note the lyric "Bitch where was you when I was walking". Once they added the ability to rest, I then had the ability to run much more often in the game and experience much more of the viscous world of Runescape. -"Now I run the game got the whole world talking" Thank you kendrick lamar for not only giving me the memory of those great days but for sharing this message to the world.
