Kendrick knows his value is more than can be described in money, it's intellectual, it's social, it's spiritual, it's esthetic, it's artistic. Kendrick (to me) has been the leading creative force in rap since To Pimp A Butterfly. Heck, even Kanye hasn't put out an album since then that could challenge Kendrick's artistic integrity. Drake may be No. 1 monitarily, but he knows Kendrick is No. 1 creatively

For the record, every musician has 1,000 songs floating around in their head. I'm a complete nobody that's played guitar for 15 years and I've got 1,000 songs I wish I had turned the mic on to record, or lost the hard-drive the recording was on. It actually haunts me, the songs I remember one or two lines from but lost everything else, so I know I'll never recover whatever it was I created. I imagine that was the fate of every artist that's ever existed, and especially every artist that existed before the digital age. If you forgot the melody, you didn't have a phone or computer to reference... It was gone forever.

For those who missed it, his favourite albums so far at this stage in his career are: 1) DAMN 2) Good kid, maad city 3) To Pimp a butterfly 4) Section 80 Wonder where he ranks Mr Morale, I would say he personally would rank it top given how much he grew through it, and his references within the diss tracks
@klz95007 ай бұрын
I feel like most artists would feel like the album they're just putting out is their best or why would they put it out at all? But it's perspective later in their career that really matters, when they can look back at the totality and not have that immediate emotional connection to their most recent work. I would like to see what he thinks ten years from now.

The man is a genius, his art is like the best abstract expressionist painters... Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cy Twombly, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Motherwell....Kendrick Lamar just to name a few...Please keep it coming!

He's just so damn likeable. Drake just don't get it, drake could write the craziest rhymes and never compare because kendrick is genuine and real. He's himself and it's beautiful

I was able to see Kendrick in one of those small venues they’re talking about when he released Section.80. Got to hear some Overly Dedicated as well & some of the Ep I believe. Such an amazing night that I wish I could relive man…
