Can't you see, when he doesn't see Michael Malone, Calvin Booth-Jamal Murray doesn't want to spend, he fulfilled his goal, he signed a max contract as if he were an All Star and MVP. 52,250,000 per season. His contract is secure and he will play sometimes when he wants to play. With a max contract, he has to be a starter. Imagine a player with 52 million per season sitting on the bench, and JS playing with a 2 million contract. JM-MPJ as starters have the worst first half in the NBA - they don't want to play defense, when they play badly they say it's our fault, like MPJ said at the end of the season - they say he's to blame for the loss but they go to the bank and withdraw the money - the money is secure no matter how they play.

This isn't Murray's standard slow start to the season where he's inconsistent. This is something else. For whatever reason he's morphed into a different type of player lacking the physical explosiveness to get separation off the dribble or get to the rim. His offensive game now is mostly limited to spot up shooting or using his spin then step back shot. And he's now too slow to defend effectively. Increased space and pace combined with the greater physicality the league mandated last year has less athletic guards struggling around the league. Murray's at the top of that list.

@icybaby210Ай бұрын
Denver needs to start Russ regardless of Murray being handicapped off ball as a 2 which showed in the Olympics. Murray has bottomed out and is injury prone. Let Russ run when he sees it but stop him at half court if it’s not there. Run the sets through joker Russ will cut and slash Murray can spot up with Porter. And Russ is shooting 37% from 3 right now so it can work or at least it’s worth a try. They need dog energy and a change of pace Russ brings both.

Jamel Murray is not the only NBA player who said "we have lives outside of basketball"! Lebron James said the same thing after they got swept by the Nuggets in the 2023 playoffs. The reason why these guys don't really play with heart n effort is because they are getting paid millions.

Ez solution: Murray out, Bogdan in. As a matter of fact, entire Serbian players as a main roster: 1. PG - Aleksa Avramovic (trade from CSKA Moscow to Nuggets); 2. SG - Bogdan Bogdanovic (trade from Hawks to Nuggets); 3. SF - Nikola Jovic (trade from Heat to Nuggets); 4. PF - Filip Petrusev (trade from Red Star Belgrade to Nuggets); 5. C - Nikola Jokic (GOAT). There you go Nuggets. Pay less cash for these, have better efficiency.

@@teresamcgee-vd2uc Easy to say horrible when he's the only legit threat and the Knicks has good personnel to defend Jokic. This was a huge contrast when Murray was also a legit threat during the playoffs that even the Wolves' defense in 2023 couldn't contain both him and Jokic (yes Jokic wasn't bothered with KAT's defense during their 2023 run). Westbrook got his points in garbage time when the game is practically over.

It's personal real talk 💯
@willkennedydrummingАй бұрын
in many points you're absolutely right. It's actually a little bit unfortunate to say something like that in front of the media. Yes, everyone has a real life and has family and all that stuff but that doesn't mean you can't bring full effort in your job afterwards. Like my grandpa used to say: "who can drink will also be able to work". And as many of us are saying: you earn millions and those millions also have a price to pay, which means a lot of the time you will not be at home, you will have to sacrifice on other things. I'm not saying you can't see your family, no, not at all, go and visit your family but you don't have to say that in front of the media and that stay can't effect your game afterwards. But I also see that a mistake like that can happen in front of the cameras, I guess he won't do it again and keep it for himself. And the players are paid to play for the whole season and not just for the playoffs. Yes, you have to be healty and ready to bring your best basketball when it matters most but you have to help your team during the season to even get there, it's not as easy as it used to be for them, it got a lot more competitive whilst Denver lost a piece or two, which makes it even harder.
