Kendrick vs. Drake: how history has shown accusations in rap beef don't need proof

The hip hop community can't pick & choose when facts matter. If we're asking for Drake & Kendrick to provide proof, then we need proof for every wild declaration rappers make. We can't just dismiss it under an umbrella of "entertainment". History has shown people have their favorites & when they love you, you can do no wrong.

Of all the allegations made, there is only 1 with multiple incidents to support it... If you are choosing to not look at it (or if you think it's normal for 30+ year old men to be texting, following, and saying sexual sht to minors) then that's on you...

6:31 I think this is a product of Dot building his credibility over time AND Drake's PUBLIC behavior being questionable at best in relation to young women crossing the legal threshold. What you do and how you act impacts how people receive what you say. Kendrick has presented himself as an Everyman and relatable and a trusted thoughtful voice. He has also warned that he shouldn’t be tried. Drake hurt himself in believability long ago when he pivoted and started being tough Aubrey. The people didn’t believe it, but the tunes didn’t diminish and he still gave glimpses of the guy we knew.

He didn't have to keep anything secret; everything was already publicly available. It didn't take long for the Internet to find video footage. Furthermore, Kendrick already knew how petty and out-matched Drake was. There was no way he wasn't going to go after Kendrick's family, so there was no way he wasn't going to expose him. No, it really doesn't. Some of the biggest claims in the biggest diss tracks of all time haven't ever been proven. Viciousness of the bars comes first, then the beat and bars themselves, and then a distant third is how rooted in truth they are. Truth can help you, especially if you've got receipts go prove it. But you don't NEED it, especially when you're opponent doesn't provide any proof either.

@@keenannash2947 Drake is the more popular artist off of sheer continuous relevance because he drops constantly and the fact that he’s a pop artist so his music is just “mass appeal rap”. However, it’s important to remember that fame breeds infamy as well. Kendrick rarely drops and makes music for his loyal fans first and foremost. Meanwhile, Drake is so constantly shoved down people’s throats that a lot of people hate him for that alone. That being said, the internet has called out this suspicious Drake activity for years at this point. The problem is just that no one “cared” until the almighty Kendrick repeated exactly what they were already saying.

A lot of people sided with Kendrick because AFTER Drake was accused of being a pedo they were confronted with his "weird" behavior and lyrics around underage girls, some people can't separate the art from the artist and those weird interactions put a lot of people on team Kendrick. I don't know if you if you remember but R Kelly was heavily defended by his fans for a long time despite his own weird behaviour and lyrics around underaged girls, ater his secrets were exposed a lot of people looked really bad. I think we are partially seeing sentiment on the topic swing because of that and because if things like Epstein Island got some people thinking all famous people are weirdos so any questionable interactions are getting blown out of proportion.

According to the dictionary, a diss does not need evidence. They’re just claims of criticisms. So if this is a rap beef, it’s the person public character and position in status that matters. So Kendrick won this. CURRENTLY, Drake is enemy #1 and everyone is tired of him being on top. Kendrick is the only contender that can stand up to him and he gets the popular swayed votes. One day Kendrick will be on top like Drake and the industry will turn on him. I love that he surpassed Drake tho.

Because Drake has a history of being fake and lying. Case in point, Adonis. There's also enough circumstantial evidence to make the accusations about messing with underage girls believable. And that argument about her not following Kendrick and a heart tweet being proof is just ... such a juvenile take. His social media is a professional tool to market his business. There are romantic partners that don't know about or care about what the other does on socials. And there's damn sure a lot that don't want their timelines filled with info about that person's work and people potentially trash talking them. Which they would be if she followed and interacted with his social media. But hey I'm just over here using logic and not just taking people at their words. To be clear, I don't think Kendrick has some smoking gun about Drake. But Drake's own actions and history make it a thing to go after. We've got videos of him quite literally breaking the law with an underage person. And him as a grown ass 30 year old man interacting with 14 year olds as if they are close friends. I don't care what wacky Hollywood circle you're in, being anything more than a mentor and acquaintance, maybe a parental figure, to a child, is weird.
