Hi Ken Jee. You videos are awesome! Thanks. Can I ask you a question? Do you think it's difficult to get a computer vision job/position having just an MBA in Data Science. I see that a lot of job positions asks for PhD and Research experience. What do you think?

Thanks Ken, I’m just starting to get into data science after 10 years in finance industry. Your videos and especially this one was very very helpful. Thanks

The code for getting all tickers is very nice! I had to go through this some months ago as well and didn't find helpful resources on that. Additionally the code is understandable commented. Thank you both Ken and Shile for sharing!

What kind of risk would you want to measure? The idea of risk is so incredibly interesting - even just in a philosophical sense. You should go for it.
@RougeSam4 жыл бұрын
@@AlexTalksTwo portfolio risk if anything (whether its stocks or bonds is where I start to get indecisive). you guys are definitely right though. I might just make it my next project
@AlexTalksTwo4 жыл бұрын
@@RougeSam portfolio risk is definitely an interesting topic. Bonds might be a better place to start. Bond valuation is down to a relative science at this point whereas an assumption you'd have to make with stocks is that they are priced accordingly (according to EMH they are but that's a different debate lol). Then you could carry over the theory you work up on bonds over into stocks. If you are looking at modern portfolio theory, you could get your feet wet with doing some analysis of beta as a metric of market risk and models that use it as an underlying assumption (like CAPM). Not sure how versed you are with alternate portfolio strategies but if you've heard of the Kelly Criterion, that would also be a fun thing to explore as well. I'm sure any of the rabbit holes you find yourself going through will lead to an interesting and fun project.

Im interested in this domain. I am considering taking UPenn's Coursera specialization on business foundation which includes some finance courses. They also have one on modeling. Also, I have found a Udemy course on quant finance concepts. Do you think this is a good approach to build my resume along with projects and networking

@@KenJee_ds is there any other fellow youtuber who can guide me to become a financial data scientist.
@shilewen68034 жыл бұрын
I suggest learning pandas, a lot of data analysis can be done solely on pandas. Going from there, I suggest learning statistical/ML libraries, such as sklearn. Once you have a good foundation, there are specific data science finance libraries, such as mlfinlab
