I'm always in tears by the end of that particular version. I get so caught up in the rawness of his emotions that my heart goes out to him just listening. His pain is so evident that you just know the place he goes to when he sings it isn't a pleasant memory. How he pulls off such a flawless performance while being that full of feeling is nothing short of amazing. Nice react. You obviously respect both the performers involved, & paying tribute to talent (& more importantly *skill*) like that is such a great thing to put out into the universe.

I totally agree. It hurts to watch him hurt so bad, and yet you just want to watch and listen on repeat. Have you seen his short from back when he teased the song though? It's purely heartbreaking! It just shows him singing the part of the chorus.

It's a beautiful song that stirs so many emotions performed by a singer who uses his natural vocal talent to tell the story.

He can always bring an emotional response from any crowd. Yes, a bunch of grammy's for Teddy Swims. His vocals are amazing and his writing is real. I can't stop listening to his music, and that's not a bad thing. 🙂Thanks for your reaction.

So beautiful! I love Teddy so much. Just watched him live on The Voice Finale two nights ago sing Lose Control and he killed it! This guy is a major talent. Like a lot of others, I cry my way through this song! Thank you Ken and antithetical!

Thank you, Ken. That was lovely. I don’t remember how I found Teddy, but this was the first thing I heard and I was hooked. There’s something indescribable in the tone of his voice that is unique. Once you’ve heard him, it’s recognizable no matter what he’s singing. Jaten Dimsdale, from Georgia, has been called Teddy his whole life. “Swims” is an acronym for “Someone Who Isn’t Me Sometimes.”

Ken your pretty awesome! I trust your reviews completely. I like to feel emotionally connected to a song and this song just has the "it" that makes me want to learn the lyrics and sing along. As a sensitive person I feel his pain and it feels real. I have been following Teddy for three years now, ever since I heard his cover of " I can't make you love me." I know this song and "Losing control " are both originals that Teddy wrote. I am happy for him. Keep up the good work. Joseph

I'm so glad I watched your review! I only recently started down the Teddy Swims rabbit hole and I'm so glad I did! This is my favorite and no, I can't get through it without choking up. I had to walk away at the end so I could compose myself so I could listen to your thoughts! I don't know much about music, but I know this guy is the real deal and he is something we have needed for a while now!! Your thoughts on it we exactly how I felt, though from a musically uneducated perspective :D

Perhaps it’s because I heard the live version first but i think this performance is so much more impactful than the studio version. Something about the production on the record doesn’t capture the emotion of that video imo.
