At first, it was sort of hard and i guess because we’re also adjusting being our first year. we didn’t know what to expect really and eventually we got a hang of things and now it’s been well. So far, it has been working for us. So they have live classes where they discuss the topic with the teacher and after that they will work on the assignments assigned for that day. I think this a really good idea to discuss in a video explaining a bit more from your questions. Let me know if you have more questions. 💌

@@KenneMarie thank you! What are the requirements for online public school since you were homeschooling? Do they get test it? Who do you need to contact if you want to start to do online public school?

so i just signed an application after talking with customer service. I did mention to them that i was homeschooling but they didn’t ask proof nor tested my kid. they do get tested on the 2nd week of school year to see where they at and how they progress as they move along with the lessons.

@@MoniLa26 i’m happy to answer any questions as I can. the school recommends a schedule of 8-5pm but typically for us(2nd grade), she has some days that live class starts at 8:30 and some starts 9:30. days vary depending on the # of live class (both required or optional for electives) the school assigned to students. Ex Monday live class 8:30-9:15 ELA, 9:15-10:00 Math with 5-6 Online Schoolwork, Tuesday 9:30-10:15 Social Studies, 1:30-2:00 music with 7-8 online schoolwork. There are days that we run errands so what we do is we let her finish all her live classes in the morning before we go out and make sure to get back before the next one and do all her online assignments as well. It does have some flexibility as long as you get the work done by completing the lessons and attending live classes. In the events, you can’t attend the live classes for emergencies or something unavoidable, you can still credited for attendance as long as you watch the recording within 24hours. Hi i have a question if i apply for online classes for my kids do i need to show any report to the county to show them that they are in class ???

Hello! online classes are already part of the student’s daily plan including the online lessons(assignments). When it comes to reporting attendance, it is like a regular brick & mortar school: log in to computer at 8am or before live class starts and complete the lessons throughout the day. i heard it can vary as well from state to state but that’s how it is here for us in Texas. We don’t report anything to the county/state as it is considered a public school. They have private academy options but I think it is best to call stride k12 customer service as I have very little knowledge about it.
