If there's one word to describe Kenny Barron's piano playing, it's finesse, not to say class. Kenny Barron touches his keyboard with great delicacy and infinite respect, and the keyboard returns the favor by giving each note its full meaning. Kenny Barron gives the impression of a musical introvert; everything is given over to his inner musicality; No facial expressions to distract him. No glee expressed for fear of being appreciated for something other than his music. His sense of harmony is rare and his musicality unique. I love this virtuoso pianist with his inventive, melodic playing, and above all I love his music.
