gonna recommend something that could actually use the recommendation (I'm being facetious, tho the first two replies were very obvious recommendations)-Volkor X's This Means War. an incredible, instrumental, darksynth odyssey depicting an alien invasion (from the perspective of the main brain of said invasion, Volkor X). one of my favorite albums, period. you've got the hype tracks that make you wanna do a barrel roll, you've got the ambient pieces which sound like suffocating in orbit while witnessing the beauty of space, and the final track is suitably monumental, with a masterful solo by Soilwork's Sylvain Coudret that leaves me in awe every time. Anthony will probably never even speak of Volkor X, but for those who are big into darksynth know this is a stone cold classic. I do think it deserves wider recognition, it's a beautiful, sprawling, and wonderful record.

While I love this comparison, Kenny feels to be pulling more from artists like MNDSGN and Knxwledge. Instrumental hip-hop is a widely explored genre in the underground. I love that we still share our love and respect for the greats like Nujabes and J Dilla, but we should be paying attention to the underground prodigies changing the game!!!

I've never heard a beat tape utilize rappers voices and little bite-sized verses like this album does. Anthony describes it as 'seasoning'. It's like the beat is always the star of the show, not the rapper, and any element of them incorporated into the sound assembly is just for detail. It's different. It's well executed. It's really creative. I think it could be the future of beat tapes

This project is all over my head since its day-one release. Flows are intoxicating, beats are just mad, and the tons of varied emotions it broadcasts is just a magnificence. Vocals purely melt in this astonishing soundscape. As far as I listen to this, the replayability is really interesting. I first heard Kenny's touch on the excellent 'UNLOCKED' project with Sensei @Denzel Curry. I was truly amazed by their powerful chemistry. Lately I got more and more in touch with Dilla, Madlib, DJ Shadow and The Alchemist's works and yeah, Kenny truly deserves his place in the middle of these iconic names. 8 out of ten is the least you could have give to it @theneedledrop , I totally recommend it even if I hesitate between a 9 or a solid 10 out of ten. Can't wait to hear more from Kenny in another solo project.
