I enjoy both Kenny's and Jimmy's music. But yes, Buffet's version is one of my all-time favorite songs. I often request it with the local radio stations. It's one of those songs I wish got more air-time. I'm glad Chesney did this; maybe more people will look for Buffet's version and get to hear a real classic.

There's nothing wrong with someone doing a cover song. Jimmy Buffett does covers too, Southern Cross being the most notable and it's not as good as Crosby Stills and Nash's original. It's not like this country dude didn't get permission from the man himself. It doesn't come close to the original, but who cares, I van guarantee Buffett was proud to have this done.

this guy knows how to sing this song. his phrasing is better than jimmy's. his voice is more smoothly suited for the lyrics. thank you so much for posting this. also this cut lacks the silly strings on the bridge and sticks to the steel which is where this song lives.
