when i worked in a small machine shop and i was hourly my shift was whenever i clocked in until i clocked out. when i graduated and was a college "boy" i went to white collar salaried worker and my shift was when ever i got into work and quitting time is whenever i left work. now that i am in forced retirement i work for my self and i work when i want and quit when i want .....

I work 7pm-7am Friday through Sunday and every other Thursday in a plastic wrap factory. Been there about 4 years now. Absolute HELL! Paid sick days, holiday pay, paid vacations, and health insurance is what keeps me from quitting.

THIS is my song. I'm a care aide and I just finished my 6 day rotation. I work 6-2, 7-3 2-10 3-11 or 11-7. Sometimes it's shorter. Other places it's 6:30-2:30, 2:30-10:30 or 10:30-6:30.

My husband works in a steel mill it can be 7-3 or 3-11 or 11-7 or 7 am to 11 pm or 3pm to 7 am . Back to back 16 hours . I bought him a boat to see him smile . He has 4 weeks vacation . We go to Florida every winter for 2 weeks . God bless his soul he retires in 2 1/2 years . It’s sh&$ work . Good money and benefits but lousy conditions and crappy hours . I just pray for his safety . Thank you too all hard working Americans ! You are the best !!!

vlasktom i was a trucker for 1 year... doing port container work 20-22 bucks a hour 12-13 hours.. all i can say is that while i drove all i could think about is.. is this my fucken life.....so now im going to heavy duty mechanics ... im thinking get a trade in... which includes trucks... 40 bucks hour union with a red seal, safety first work for a good company do 30 years and then open a business and then party..after you learn a trade life improves because you can always make money.. learn heavy duty mechanics with welding and dude in a decade of doing that ur looking at 100+200+ a hour working in the north a self employed field mechanic...Fresh air...freedom...fix the damn Equipment at your own pace with safety in mind(WHich means work at your own pace no breaking your back), just got to invest you own truck with equipment now how hard is that...Obiuslly in the beggining it is going to be hard but then... stuff slows down and you become advanced BIG MONEY PLAYA!!!
