Well, here we are today n he's 26 and accomplished. Served 8 years in the army, works for the sheriff's office and just got married to his soul mate. This song came out when my daughter was about 6 months old. She is in college to be a nurse now. You're NEVER ready for that, so cherish them while they are little. And this song hits so different when your girl is grown. Makes me cry now (in a good way). 🥲

Got pregnant at 17, had him I was 2 months after my 18th birthday. His dad ran off, so it was just me and my son. When he was about 7, he had heard two of my great-aunts talk and said that having him so young was a mistake. When we were coming home, he asked me if he was a mistake. I pulled on the side of the road and went on the backseat with him. I looked straight into his eyes and said "There is a difference between an accident, and a mistake. My daughter is in North Carolina and we are in Washington state so I cry at this video. Dropping my daughter off at college in South Dakota was the hardest I have ever cried in my life.

I love this song. I have 3 kids. They grow up so fast. I remember moving my middle daughter into her dorm for collage and leaving her there. It was awful. she was only 1 1/2 hrs away but it was still so hard. Like I said, time goes so fast. Seems like yesterday but she graduated 1 yr ago, Enjoy your kids while they are still little!!!!!!

I up and moved halfway across the country to SoCal when I was 19 & totally did not realize how hard it was on my aunt when I did that until my son moved out at 18. He literally moved 1/2 mile from our house and it was freaking HARD!! I told my aunt immediately that I was so sorry because I could NOT imagine him being halfway across the country. 😂 He's moving again next month to a city an hour and a half from here... I'm grateful he's taking "baby steps" with me.😊

As a father of 2 boys who are grown now, one gone in the Air Force stationed in Hawaii and my younger son who is just months from moving out....I can't believe how fast raising them went by. There were many times when they were young we were very busy with cub scouts and hockey.....and I remember thinking sometimes....God will this ever end cause sometimes I just wanted to lay back and rest with all of the hours I worked being self employed. Now it's been over for a few years and I truly miss those times and would give anything to do it again.....try not to take it for granted for any parents who are still in that stage but many will and finally realize that they did later. I have no regrets though...I was always involved being from a broken home at a young age, I wanted better for my boys...I'm very proud to have been able to do that and make the necessary sacrifices to give them a solid foundation in which I never had but had a sense of what that was supposed to be.
