@theheroricky : I saw Kenny Live 2 weeks ago and he played Jean Pierre in some other song. I don't think he blew this by accident, he knows jean pierre is classic and people like to hear it.

Nice to see Kenny's going back to pay respects to his first genre - that funky jam from which he has been absent for so long. Kenny Garett has been majestically enjoying Presidential status wearing the "Organic Real Jazz" Crown. Here, he funks; he grooves; he just simply "burns" whilst "liming" at, let's say, a "Cook Out" or BBQ jam concert. Voila the unharnessed freedom! Do listen to the "Real" Kenny Garett as he pays tribute to one of his idols, John William Coltrane, in "Pursuance" - if I correctly recall the title of the CD. Therein, he is structurally and organizationally fierce on alto saxophone. "Simply said" showcases yet another side of Kenny Garrett, whose alto sound-voice reminisces that of Vincent Herring, and Donald Harrison - both true "Organic Real Jazz" virtuosos.

Kenny is my favorite alto sax player, but David saborn is way older than Kenny and sanborns main influence is hank Crawford, and sanborn is a great player with his own style and sound, and as much as I like Kenny Garrett,Grover Washington jrs version of inner city blues is better
