Kenny Pickett is COMPLETE GARBAGE!! (The DOWNFALL of Kenny Pickett)

Kenny Pickett over his first 2 seasons has struggled mightily trying to adjust to the speed of the NFL. His lack of pocket presence, ability to read and process coverages, and having limited arm strength has not helped him, as these blatantly obvious flaws show up far too often on game tape. If Pickett continues on this trajectory, it is more than likely that he will either become a backup or will be completely out of the league in under 3 years. Enjoy the video!

You're 100% right. I usually give young players 3 years before I call them a bust and think it's acceptable to move on from them, but I'll make exceptions when it's been 2 years and they've been THAT BAD. IK the Steelers' OLine and run game wasn't always the best but throwing 13 TDs in 25 games as a 1st round QB is flat out unacceptable. I know passing TDs isn't the only thing to look at but it's still horrible to throw only 13 in 25 games. If I'm the Steelers' I'm moving on from him as soon as I can.

Literally the only reason why he was drafted round 1 was because he went to Pitt and the last Pitt QB they passed on was Dan Marino. I was so pissed off when they took him over Malik Willis but in hindsight that statement is hilarious.

As a Steelers fan I did think Kenny was a desperation reach. They left it too long and for some reason also let their outgoing GM do the final draft. Most teams don't. But there's just nothing Kenny does where you go "Ok...I can at least see that there's something there." He's not athletic at all. We were supposed to have a mobile QB and the guy is a statue. He constantly spins out of clean pockets and right into sacks. He has ZERO pocket discipline even after two years. THe second a D linemen puts a FINGERTIP on one of the OLs, he's gone 100% of the time. I don't think he's stepped UP in the pocket one time in two years. ALWAYS always always out and into sacks. He has a weak arm. That was known at the time he was drafted but it was hoped his other traits would make up for it but they don't. Watch the tape. IT takes every ounce of his strength to HEAVE that ball on every throw. He makes it look like he's shotputting, like the ball weighs like 10 lbs. There's never a tight spiral or good speed. It makes them easy to pick because almost all them are slow wobblers. As for clutch...don't care. Everyone liked to say "Well, at least he comes alive in the fourth quarter." Yeah, well, that's because he can't get ANYTHING going for the first three. Almost every drive he leads doesn't even get to the fucking 50. It's nice to score points before the fucking two minute warning.

You ask why the Steelers took him in the First Round? The final contract with Roethlisberger is what caused the Organization to reach for Pickett. Roethlisberger, finally retires, however the Organization was without a suitable replacement under Center. In my opinion, Rudolph rusted away riding the pine. Furthermore, it's highly unusual for a team to have a potential franchise Quarterback waiting in the wings; I only can recall two modern day teams: San Francisco and Green Bay. Another reason the Steelers selected Pickett was because they missed on Dan Marino from Pitt in 1983. The Steelers believed that lightning strikes twice in the same spot, however Dan Marino was a baseball player and legitimate first round pick, Kenny Pickett was neither. A trivia note: the 1983 Quarterback class had three potential NFL HoF members, Marino, Elway, and Kelly. Pickett's Quarterback class doesn't even have a decent starter. The trade to Philadelphia shouts from the rooftops what role Pickett is going to play in Philly. No way he's going to compete with Jalen Hurts for the starting position. I think he's going to be their 2024 Scout Team Quarterback. Presently, the Steelers have one Quarterback it's going to be interesting who the Steelers get in Free Agency and or the Draft as Russell Wilson and Arthur Smith begin their Steelers journey together.

Ok you were right about Kenny…..now enjoy all the riches and accolades that come with that call. Ill add one thought here, there have been QB’s that start out shaky or even downright bad, but over time become good NFL QBs. When you look back there were a few things they did well that could be built upon. Kenny could play well in the clutch moments late in games. He pulled out several games in the closing seconds. There are parts of his game a good OC can build upon. Hes old for a guy that only has 2 years league experience. Point being, you cant give up on a first or second year QB, especially when he was a first round selection.

Pick It was wildly hyped and overated by Shitsburgh fans from day one. Guy has no arm at all and anytime he throws the ball more than 10 yards downfield it is usually off target or thrown late or thrown into coverage. 6 TDs in 12 games in his 2nd season was not Canada’s fault. The reality is Canada was being asked to mold an offense around a non-NFL quality starting QB named Pick It. Canada certainly was not a good OC, but Canada was also not the one consistently making poor off target throws and poor throwing choices out on the field. That was Pick It doing that.

I could never understand why people think Pickett is/will be so great. It’s obvious to me from the first time I saw him play for the Steelers. It can’t be that hard to stand in the pocket and read defenses… The players (Dionte and Pickens) know better that all of us who should be playing.

Bro been trash he can only make one or two throws because Kenny doesn't have any arm strength to stretch the field to make deep plays down the field.

I get how football fans are im one of them but at the end of the day he made it to a starter in the NFL, i honestly dont think you would've been able to do it so i dont think one should criticize unless you've been through it

Do you criticize the food at a restaurant without being a chef? Or do you just eat it and say I guess this foods good because this guy knows more about cooking it than me. You don’t need to be an expert or have experience to realize if someone is very good or bad at what they do ,because the fruits of their labor tell you.

Just a low intelligence, ignorant take. With that logic you can't criticize politicians, cuz hey, you've never been a politician. Some of the worst logic I've ever seen, ever. I don't think it's articulatable how awful this logic really is.
@ibeethatoneguy7807

@@mattsch21 That's not the same. Politicians give you ideas and cases on why you should vote for them and it's only a disgrace or agree type situation. Completely different then being involved in an athletic competition. Understand the context of what I said instead looking at it at face value. If he wouldve said Pickett is trash compared to these QBs then those are facts. You can't criticize people more successful then you, you can have an opinion but can't criticize. He's making millions a year what are YOU doing? Yea go sit down

Kenny will be good. New QB's take three years. He had a winning record. The delusion steeler fans have is almost laughable. Their receivers stunk. One was dumped he was so bad. They were not open. The line was terrible. Center so bad he was released. LT graded worst in the league. RT Jones rookie was bad. The steelers and their fans have become worse than cleveland and are now raving over a 35 year old bad QB dumped by his team and a bust dumped by another team. How much kool aid you guys drink?

Pickett stinks , but this video is lame and there is over an 80% chance that a first round QB will be a bust and a very small chance that a QB ever wins a Super Bowl. The Steelers could barely win playoff games during the second half of Big Ben's career and nothing is guaranteed in the NFL.
