THESE ARTISTS WERE THE ONES WE WERE LISTENING TO BACK IN THE DAYS(1980's), BEFORE CDs, DVDs. YOU EITHER LISTEN TO THEM ON THE RADIO, WATCH THEM ON TV, BUY THEIR VYNIL RECORDS WHICH WERE SELLING BY THE MILLIONS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD OR GO TO THEIR CONCERTS. THEY WERE SUPERB THEN, BUT LOOKING BACK, WITH THE KIND OF MUSIC THAT WE HAVE NOW, I REALIZE THAT THESE CLASSIC LOVE SONGS WERE MORE THAN SUPERB, THEY ARE TIMELESS TREASURES.

Richie had the music written and presented it to the Commodores with opening the song with "lady" and only that word... he didn't have anything else as for lyrics to the music for this song. After Roger's people put them together first part of the song was written by Rogers and Richue did the rest of the song while using the restroom... theres a video I just watched on KZbin a few days ago with Rogers explaining all this on stage as Richie is in the audience and ultimately they both perform the song afterwards

Mathew Callies - Lionell Richie wrote this song for the Commodores, and they didn't want to record it. So Richie contacted Kenny Rogers and the rest is history.

Tears but so many wonderful memories listening to this man. Love you guys!!!

I grew up just outside NE Philly in Bucks Co. What a big venue to have your graduation!! I was in charge of buying the tix and waited until the last minute. I went there and the box office just released a few first row center seats. LOL. Jackpot. Kenny called on my dad to answer some “true fan” trivia questions about his songs. My parents were over the moon! Keep up the great reactions. I really enjoy watching you both and your relationship with each other. ❤️

But thank you and by the way he was my father but he was still alive he would tell you one thing and one thing, you are the most beautiful women in the world. That's just the way he was so you know. But my mother he met her I caught a show called E all. Now were getting way back in time. And when you get a chance look up a movie called six pack that's on my dad did a movie together.and then you realize what an incredible man he was. But I'm telling you right now thank you for making this KZbin video, and like I said my father was so live, he would tell you first of all me being the son go for these two beautiful women, but your weight you young for me, but thank you thank you and thank you from the Rogers family.

The first song I remember hearing Kenny Rogers sing was "Ruby, Don't take your love to town" I loved all of his songs and really didnt have a favorite. Two duets of his you'll will probably like are, "Islands in the Stream" and "We got Tonight". I am 73 years and I was around for all his good one. I did hear him sing "What condition my condition was in". I just didn't know it was Kenny. I have seen a You Tube video of him and Lionel singing "Lady" together and it was just beautiful.

Yeah, always a favorite. And this is TOTALLY a Lionel Ritchie song who writes the BEST ballads, as we know. I think there's a video of the two of them singing this song together not long ago. For my wedding (back in 1985) we were trying to decide on this one and Lionel's "Truly"... I think I had to end up flipping a coin because I loved both songs equally, and "Truly" got it. But I love, love, love this song. Kenny has some really great ones, story-telling type songs too. :) Great reaction!
