DELTA RUNE CHAPTER 2 TOOK A VERY PURORESU HEEL TURN.... Ok but fo real tho, its a damn shame this couldnt be played at the Tokyo Dome. Just for the fact that it woulda had the Undertale OST playing in that arena... Ah well, fun parody. For Undertale fans that have no idea what is going on here: Tanahashi vs Kenny is the main event of NJPW’s Wrestlemania , and it quite literally a battle for what the future of New Japan will be. Old vs New. Puro style vs hybrid style Strong style & fighting spirit parallel quite greatly with the whole DETERMINATION theme in Undertale. And with kenny being a “cult classic” wrestler, its a great collab idea. Oh and of course kenny (and elite’s) message of wanting to change the (wrestling) world

Rupeescreamer Jones For New Japan specifically, * content creators such as RNPuro and Showbuckle have great videos describing the many layers of production, booking , and storytelling for NJPW. * Super Eyepatch Wolf has a good general wrestling primer video called “Why Professional Wrestling is Fascinating” , but he talks about the Golden Lovers storyline at the end of that. * if you need a place to start Specifically watching matches, watch any of the wrestling matches from the past few years of the G1 Climax. Especially the finals. * NJPW’s english youtube also has started releasing faction history videos so thats something too And thats only New Japan. Japanese Wrestling also has Dragon Gate(Technically New Japan’s rival), Stardom(womens wrestling) and DDTPro(comedy wrestling. But kenny and ibushi’s humble beginnings from there are still epic)

For guys to look at I suggest Okada, Tanahashi, Nakamura(no longer in NJPW), Bullet Club, or older guys like Mutoh, Chono, Liger and Nagata. For me It was a guy that I saw at a WCW event in the late 90's. He was hyped as the greatest thing from Japan but nWo just buried him. I got interested so I bought some NJPW DVDs from the same site that I was buying my Dragonball subs from at the time. I've been a huge fan of Nagata ever since even though his role in the company is now different.

Don't assume anything at this point until we hear from the man himself at the end of January when his contract expires. For all we know, the plan for the presumable AEW is a partnership with ROH and NJPW which would still let these guys build AEW together but allow Kenny to continuing mainstreaming NJPW into the US market. NJPW knows what they have with Kenny and his impact on their push into the US and Canada. They will probably give him a lot of leeway for outside ventures to retain him.
