Marijuana grows at roadsides like wild grass in Nainital. The locals find foreigners lying high at roadside funny because bhaang is the Indian choice to get high. It is not smoked but eaten like spinach or drink like a smoothie.

Bro I am from Almorah, Uttarakhand, Bageshwar to be precise and nothing like that happens in Nainital. And no you don't find foreigners lying high at roadsides too. I travel a lot around Kumaon from Haldwani to my village. Although most pahadis I know smoke, even in my famil, but we grow our own in our villages. Smoking scenes in Nainital are not as open as they are in Kasol and Tosh.

Harsh Chandola I have seen the bushes on my way to Lohajung from Kathgodam. I just wrote what I heard from one local guy's one anecdote. And you know such anecdotes are amusing but are seldom first hand experiences. Maybe some local saw a stoned foreigner just once but this is what 'Chinese Whispers' is. P.S.: Kenny brought up Nainital, not me! :)

When I went for weed for the very first time I ended up brewing tea on stove with pan over it n the stove was not lit ..I stayed there for more than an hour just to make the tea and when my friends came to get me and tea I told them that gas will burn automatically...n guess what they believed it and stand beside me coz they were high too....😀😀

I have been around some friends that were stoners, they really are dedicated when they clean the weed. And they go on and on in depth about all the technicalities and which one is good and which is not. Once we cracked a joke in-front of a stoned friend and he kept laughing for over an hour
