Just spent 20 minutes looking for this song on KZbin. Finally found it. This song should have been a bigger hit.

They don't make rap songs like this to put on the radio anymore because the record labels had a secret meeting to push gangsta rap to fund the private prisons. It is so sad in all honesty. Rap like this is now underground. Once 1993 came, conscious rap went to the way side and off commercial radio.

My dad had this cassette and I sure did "borrow" it from him. He used to get hella mad because when he'd get ready for work in the morning, all of his cassette would curiously be in my room.

This is 1990 not 91' . I remember my dad finally got cable tv, and this video came on the first day we watched Yo Mtv raps, and then I went out and bought his tape.

I like 99.999% of the song except when King Sun raps he likes “redbones” then proceeds to criticize sisters for wearing artificial hair & such.. the God shouldn’t be promoting that type of divisive colorism.. especially when it’s likely darker women who attempt to “enhance” their appearance, do so in hopes of competing w/ “redbones” who get all the attention from Black men in the 1st place.

so the God can't have a preference or should he just not mention it? Especially being a light skinned male himself.....
