Oh, my god, Kenny. Thank you so much for bringing Biswa and picking his brains about such a wide variety of things. Watching Biswa's standup over the years, I always got the feeling that he is someone who is deeply self-reflective, philosophical, and at times nihilistic, but now I know for a fact that all those things are true. Hard to believe that nobody before you had sat this gem of a person down and recorded an interview or a conversation with him in this manner. AaaHhhhhhh haha I haven't felt this way about a podcast ever in my life. It feels like my thoughts are being voiced and challenged at the same time. This is a great show and I am a fan. Hey Kenny! This is probably the first comment that I've posted on KZbin (as far as I can remember) but #SimpleKen is like a breath of fresh air. I can't remember the last time people were actually finishing any 45 minutes long video. Everyone is complaining how our attention span is getting shorter and the movies, cricket matches everything is being squeezed down. But I believe it's only the mediocre content that fails to keep them engaged. And of course shorter content means more money. Anyway, Simple Ken can be an example. If only you were making money out of this. 😆 Keep up the good work and we love you dude.

So I was listening to this while doing chemistry (which I obviously stopped doing) and my book is now full of points which I had to comment, and here goes: -This was a brain treat. Very thought provoking, exhilarating and yet radiating contentment. (Very rare combo.) -I used to fear aging. But seeing you guys assign uncertainty to the present made me realise the future was also going to be a collection of new fleeting moments, nothing to fear, nothing which should invoke dread. Hearing about Biswa's grandma helped a lot too. -The one comment about ambition vs contentment really hit home. Alongside the futility of calling brick and mortar "home", and that of calling sub-subjective states: "Sucess and failure." -The self awareness bit was also really interesting to delve into inside my own head and judge where I stood with respect to that. -So yeah, this was all but boring, 😉 Thanks for recording this, as someone who is trying to draw the venn diagram between their journey and destination, this helped A LOT. Indeed at the end of all how's, there is a why, which is largely unanswered. Perhaps unanswerable, perhaps not. Accepting that makes one add a tint of curiosity and contentment to their nihilism. Which maybe makes it an entirely new kind of philosophy. This conversation was a treat to be a part of. Please keep making this, and do call biswa again.

Comedians talking about consciousness is a next step in humanity. Dont worry guys you have triggered most minds to think in a transformative direction.
@shaktiseshadri16744 жыл бұрын
question: I am an introvert yet bold and expressive when it comes to talking to people, not too conscious about what others think, be it when I pose funny or while cracking jokes upon myself and I feel this gives others the freedom to take me light and crack jokes on me yet i take it sportive and more importantly the feeling that "it's her she doesn't mind" or I don't know how to put it in words..its basically taking advantage of me and they somehow convince me in doing what they want even if I say NO at first. And I now feel this is because I express myself out there and should rather wear a mask which will make people think twice before talking to me. So ken what's your perspective about this to be whimsical, funny and center of attention or the wise, a little serious respectful one when you are around people #simpleken

The same taking me lightly stuff and trust me that's a refreshing change so maybe you need to find people who see you for who you are and not take you too lightly, a little is okay alternatively you could try to tell those people that you feel like this... I feel strangely the same way but I feel like at some point no matter how you act there's a part of your personality that is strongly linked with how you behave around people so maybe you're not putting that much of a mask when you feel like you're "acting like the whimsical or the serious one" but it's really just a part of who you are. So maybe if you think of it that way and not be overtly aware of how you act around people you can understand yourself better in that sense. (not giving any advice tho lol)

I love the rhythm of this "long talk"/ podcast. I think it's so easy to watch it for 45 mins or one hour or whatever, because this is actually relatable content. This is how people actually want to think, or the stuff we want to listen to, without having a point to make or a place to reach. This is perhaps an actual example of the "journey" being more fun, than the destination. Thanks for starting this, it's interesting without being intrusive.

It's sad how ratta Mar is promoted....we had a question in our textbook ; what are measures taken by government to increase women representation in legislative bodies, and it was kinda pointless learning that when nothing is done about it..also we learn about how malpractices like 'money and muscle power ' is erradicated in elections whereas it's still happening, democracy is glorified in civics texts but in reality it doesn't uphold it's glory

37:58 This hits so deeply that, no words truer existed. I give the same damn advise I should be giving to myself then to people who are my friends. Basically, it's not for them but me reciting my own words, loud and clear enough that they reach me if not them. I have pulled myself out of a situation just by thinking how much am I standing true to my own words. I can't voice out things concerning me to people. They think I am sorted/have no feelings that mess me up but the reality is that I have been broken the same time as them and somehow at that time had gathered the courage to talk it out but before me they did. Now, I can't. I have this tripping point where I cry alone in a room full of people and no one is able to see it. I am not able to do that anymore even for small things like, "what makes me happy?". Self reliance has become an integral part of me that I neither want to leave nor keep.

Biswa, "..people still believe that there are answers.. there are no answers." That goes hand in hand with this random thought that I had at 2 am a few years ago and it has completely shifted my perspective. The thought was that nothing we know about anything, be it our name, the colour of the sky, the effect of paracetamol, nothing that we know is 100% percent true. Everything that we know was created by another human being. Us being called 'human beings' was created by a human being. So yeah, definitely resonated with what you guys were talking about there. This episode was quite the yo-yo with biswa slipping into the dark and Kenny trying to reel back the philosophical talk, but it was quite interesting to listen to both of your perspectives! Super cool episode, Kenny!

hey , watching Biswa talk about how we don't have answers to anything is just mind-blowing and honestly, I guess THAT is the answer to everything.

Man, Bishwa hits so many right notes, I mean I believe, all the problems in India can be solved by providing quality education to everyone, and also by thinking about where we're headed, We've been as a nation, proud of our history, our heritage, culture, blah blah, but then by enjoying that comfort zone, we forget where we're headed, learn from you past and plan for your future, hence the cocoon is what we need to break, and then we can actually think of flying.

I studied in a Convent school and I remember we used to have every morning first class of moral education when the teacher (sister/nuns) used to share some stories with morals. I always felt this is the most unimportant class... But now I realized that those stories and 'thoughts of the day' help us building empathy and open-mindedness. I am happy that I studied in the school where they valued the morals to be built in the kids and not just merits, marks, and academics
