The announcement by Mrs McCluskey of Danny's death sends shivers up and down my spine. The reaction from the pupils and some of the teachers is testament to how story-telling should be in a drama series. Nowadays, the character would've probably met a sticky end by being blown up in "one of the grittiest storylines in the shows history" nonsense.
