There's a lot about 2023 that makes you glad you survived the Real Blue period. ha. Noah is laid back and it lays me out. I've sung this to myself a couple thousand times in my car. The only song playing on repeat for months and wanted to record it jus for my own love of the song. Odd though, it took me a year with that album before BoB gained a corner of my brain. But then, ain't that the blues?

I always thought this was one of the best songs ever, so well-written and played. But when my wife took her life it took on a whole new meaning. Those lyrics, "You turned and you ran, oh yeah. Lord, you slipped right from my hands" cut me straight though the heart. I'd play this in the car to and from work over and over again, day after day, singing it when I wasn't crying. I have tears on my face now, not just from grief but from how deep and meaningful the lyrics are, how beautiful the guitar is, how the song is wrapped so strongly with my life saying exactly what I want to say as though I had written it.

I totally agree. I saw him on the G3 tour with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai at the Fox Theater in Atlanta in the late 90's. He was maybe 20 years at the time. I'd not heard of him but out on the stage comes a scrawny kid with long blonde hair but he stole the show and held his own with Vai and Satriani. It was a fantastic show and I've been a fan since. He definitely doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
