Andy , and all others-- I know the feeling. Back when I was a kid (70s and 80s) , I would try to write down some of the lyrics to a song I liked. And try to guess who did it. Usually the FM radio stations here in Chicago wouldn’t answer or they had their phone off the hook. It wasn’t like now kiddies, where you could just type in a portion of the lyrics and PROBABLY get the artist/ original recording. Or sample the song, and SIRI would find it. Ha !!!!! If I had KZbin when I was a kid, I KNOW, I would have never left the house. ( Actually I have a hard time leaving the house NOW, because of KZbin). 😄 !!!!!!!! The VERY FIRST DAY I had KZbin, I was on it for 18 hours straight. !

@@Sicaughtik Lol- not really Some Guy. It is a super easy song to play. I could teach anyone the main verse in literally one hour. I play it all the time and it's fun and insanely simple. Just 3 easy cowboy chords with a couple of small changes that are also easy. I was not trying to be whatever you were thinking- some type of *head. No. Just the opposite. I LOVE music and playing guitar and I want everyone, even you to experience that joy. I am also a skier and got last tracks down the mountain at Vail on a powder day. It was all light snow, sun was setting and I had the place to myself and I felt...sad. Why? Because I know that many others will never get to experience that feeling. Life is too short to keep things all to yourself. I also volunteer, rescue animals, donate money and do pro-bono work so no, I was not trying to be a jerk- just want to encourage others to try new things. Given the way this crazy world is going these days, I don't think that is too bad. There are worse things. Cheers! Now go buy a guitar and take some lessons. If you want, I will even help you get started for free...we can start with this easy song! I promise I can teach you. There is more to life than video games.

What makes this song truly amazing is the simple message found in the lyrics. Blue on black! Some things just can't be undone. It's the better part of wisdom to bear that in mind in all the things we say and the actions we take in every day. Thanks KWS and God bless.

Saw him 10 years ago in Springfield, Mo after being a fan for years and his voice and guitar playing was top notch. Kenny Wayne has never achieved the recognition he deserves in my opinion. Also saw him perform at an Austin City Limits tribute to a well-known musician and he stood out musically as he stayed in the background. Humble, good man. Great musician.

Back in August 1997 they presented in one of my favorite radio programs called "CD Vanguard" that was on the air during the second half of that year and was broadcast on FM Del Sol 99.5 from Montevideo, Uruguay on Saturdays from 20 to 22 hs. A space where you could meet the most alternative pop-rock music of the moment. At that time the conductor named Ramiro Pèrez announces the song of Kenny Wayne Shepherd; Blue on Black. I remember playing it at full volume and my head exploded when I heard the first chords, I wondered what that was, that new blues rock with a post-grunge air. I immediately pictured a black singer in his early 30s. Many years later I was surprised when I saw the video and saw that they were very young and white boys similar to the Hanson in their look, endowed with an incomparable virtuosity. I did not know more about them, I only knew this topic that was only promoted there in that program. Of those pleasant surprises that usually happen from time to time.

My Dad's little brother aka my Uncle D was killed in a drunk driving accident by his friend.. the. drunk. driver. in March of 1998 at only 23yrs old.. I'll never forget my dad playing Blue on Black on repeat over & over again... I listen to over the yrs for many reasons & when I've lost ppl in my life especially ones who I was responsible/ trusted in caring for like my Gram who raised me & then my mom rite before Christmas.. I've gotten "mostly" to the point in my life that I don't burst into tears EVERYTIME I hear it now but, still get chills EVERYTIME the line... "Blind.. Ooh but, Now I See, Truth, Lies & In Between... Wrong Can't be Undone.." 💙💚💔💜🩵
