@@team_cartooney6559 He didn't even know how to use his shilkai at this point in the story. That is why he's a mid-tier captain in the soul society arc line-up. And that is not because Kenpachi is weak. He's just not at the peak of his power and a lot of really strong and experienced captains are still around (Yamamoto, Kyoraku, Aizen, Unohana, Gin). Ofcourse Kenpachi does get a huge powerboost and a lot of top tier captains are gone by the end of the TYBW arc catapulting him to contender for the strongest captain.

​@@charliekline9487 Aizen's Shikai work almost same way as Tosen Bankai. Non Strike Bankai didn't have ability to strike a deadly blow. Like Fire, Ice, or Energi Blast. It depends on the user swordmanship to cut. Kyoka Suigetsu and Suzumushi have ability to human sense but Tosen didn't have power like protection, healing, or Kido.

@@MrShadow1995. i know... Based on Zanpakuto alone, the all ilusion Bankai have the same weakness. And so, basicly those Bankai didn't have a deadly strike as the killing blow for the opponent. See in Tousen case, he has to hollowfied himself to have sight, cero, fast move, and instant generation other than swordmanship. Or Shinji case, an energy blast knock him out because he just defend himself just with sword. You see, ilusion sword didn't have blast ability to strike immediately. But Aizen has complete himself with Any Kido, any hollow form, Instant regeneration, even fire seal and neck Shield. His ordinary swing is just swing, but his reiatsu gave his swing a powerful slash. But it is just a sword swing. But the strongest one. Compare to elemental sword like Ryujin Jakka. Single swing from that sword was deadly. Scorch you apart.

What I love is unfortunately not in this particular cut. When Kenpachi is thinking at 4:12, in the show there is a short scene where he thinks about how his subordinates would solve this. Yumichika then says he would "Give up beautifully". Which Kenpachi gets annoyed by. Then realizes this is EXACTLY what he needs to do. What more beautiful way for a complete beast like Kenpachi to give up, than tanking a major hit so he can deal a killing blow in return? Didn't kill his opponent, but was enough to feffectively win the fight.

I know they build up Tousen's Bankai, but it just seems limited. You can still smell him and you can sense his spiritual pressure. These is also the fact experienced fighters or battle junkies like Zaraki can just take the hit and cut him down in turn. That or insult his "justice" send him into a rage and mess him up or AND damage would also work. In summary, there are so many ways to beat him in bankai it's not even funny.
