Well, I am seeing Twirling Wings, the second step 2 in SF2 (when both hands are acting in concert) and Captured Leaves in what you are demonstrating. You might ask about Captured Leave.. When I earned Obscure Claws in '92 and the stance transition after the upper cut to lock the left arm was a transitional cat stance. My right foot moves toward my 1:00 in to what I call a Tension Cat Transition. At this point, through my stance change, I am pulling the attackers left foot with me, which helps to drop their left shoulder, raise them up on the toes of their right foot,which locks that left arm in tight. Also, the glancing back fist and plam heel strikes look like the last two strikes of Glancing Salute. There are so many snippets of action in this technique. I totally agree with where the attacker is standing. Good job Jaime.

Hi Mr seabrook i have another question for you sir can you learn kenpo without forms
@SeabrookMartialArtsAcademy4 жыл бұрын
If you focused your training only on self-defense techniques, sparring, pad work, etc., you would have more than enough skills to defend yourself on the street and be great at Kenpo. For promotion purposes, however, forms represent a piece of the puzzle because they teach rules and principles of motion and that everything has a reverse and an opposite. Also, the goal of forms is not to prepare you for street self-defense, but to help you build your basic fundamentals (the first 4 forms) and improve your memory of self-defense techniques (Short 3 to Long 6). The forms also help with conditioning, especially Long Form 4 and up, although even doing Short 1 to Long 2 (4 forms) without taking a break helps your endurance. In my view, that's more fun that biking or running, plus I am getting the benefit of improving my Kenpo. Hope that helps.
