I like these techniques but personally always do the opposite-foiling back to front (crown to front hairline) in mohawk sections & go from bottom to top on sides so once foils are in they stay put to prevent bleeding😁
@morganrichards19903 жыл бұрын
Lol I do the same thing. I’ll get bleeders if I move them around. But I do stacked mostly in the Mohawk
@melodyvoss2 жыл бұрын
My hairdressers always leave me with spots in my (middle of the back) long hair. They always blame me! From saying I moved around, or My hair is just too long. I shouldn't end up with orange bands at the top of my hair that have to be fixed afterwards. A root smudge last time basically brought the root line back down to where I looked like I needed my hair foiled the same day I got my hair foiled. And not to mention...I wear my hair in a ponytail everyday & every highlight section looked like extention tracks at the root. How can I just get the correct placement for a ponytail/bun?
@TheMkgirl772 жыл бұрын
@@morganrichards1990 I think that happens because it’s not feathered up the section. I normally start the most saturation at the midshaft then lightly brush up. This will keep it from bleeding.

You were fantastic! I really enjoyed this video, I was super excited, it was a great idea to show the two techniques, until you shadowed the root! I feel like it softened the result down to the point where it was more of a client visual end result, not an educational visual result! You did not need to do that! I wanted and needed to see the raw highlights results, so I could truly see the way the highlights looked and fell! Not every client wants shadow roots, even if it is the trend right now it will go out of fashion but these applications will not. A clean, raw result would have REALLY helped the professionals in an educational way. This is just a thought for next time, dry the the hair and let us see the raw highlights, then shadow root and let us see that. Thank you for your video

I get the feeling that the instructor is partial to the fan placement judging by the finished results😉 (IMO) The mannequin hair, with the "fan" placement, looks more curled, less frizzy and more finished. The mannequin hair with the "Mohawk" placement, still looks nice but not as styled. Now that I've seen the fan placement, I'm interested to see it on a real person😍. Love the tutorial! Also love the fact that she did this on two different mannequins and not just one side or the other. Very easy to understand and I like how she told the benefits of each placement and when you would use these. Bonus: her voice is not overly animated so I was able to listen without having to pause. Some voices grate on my nerves, if that makes sense. ❤

I like both results but really love that fan I like the contrast it provides and the regrowth always looks less obvious. I think to get that overall uniform yet dimensional lighening the Mohawk achieves that and the fan gives more punchy bright contrasted result that just speaks to me. I’ll be sending this video to my stylist so she can see what I’ve been trying to convey as a non stylist. Im almost solid bleach, with a few dimensional level 8/9 throughout to tone down the platinum I tiny bit but with massive regrowth right now. With the fan highlight and some filler lowlight on the mid to ends I think I could end up with a perfect solution to full bleach.

@KenraProfessional2 жыл бұрын
Hi, David! Thanks for the love! How many foils you do and what areas you cover is entirely up to you and the client in the consultation. Oftentimes, a partial highlight will cover all of the major areas and this is enough. Other times, clients may want to do full highlights or want more of an overall blonde effect. Just make sure that you charge appropriately for the services and the time it takes for you to complete them. We hope this helps!

@KenraProfessional3 жыл бұрын
Hi! You are able to use any combination of foiling methods, techniques, and angles on the sides and back of the head using either of these methods. Because the mohawk and fan cover recession to recession, they essentially cover the entire head when the hair falls. When doing a horizontal weave in the mohawk section technique, it may be easiest and most consistent to continue doing that down the back as far as you would prefer. Hope this helps!
